AKV is booked for 2008!

Just tried to call for a second week in Oct or Nov or Dec at any time for 5 consecutive days and the MS told me that AKV is basically SOLD OUT for 2008!! OMG! They have random days here and there (wed or thurs for 1 or 2 nights) but otherwise all sizes are booked from here to the end of the year. I didn't ask about next year.

Thank goodness we booked our new year week at month 11 to the hour! I am just sad that we won't be able to go for a second week. Sigh.

We just booked our first trip home a couple of weeks ago for the 2nd week in November.

Had no problems at the time getting the size and view we wanted.

If Kidani comes on line sooner than expected in late '08, people that get waitlisted for Nov/Dec may yet be in luck.

We just booked a standard view studio for the end of September, and were told that there were lots of savanna view left at that time.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that most of October, Thanksgiving, and December are full, but there are certainly weeks in there that are not full.

That's what I'm thinking. When I booked BWV last week for the end of Sep-beginning Oct, I was told the only thing in short supply at AKV was Value rooms. Standard and Savannah had good availability.

Let's see. Just last week, I changed a 1 br SV room for a long weekend in November to a 2 br SV room. So at least last week there was still some availability in November. This change was even for a holiday weekend (Veteran's Day).

December on the other hand is getting very full at AKV. I know for sure that 12/7 has absolutely nothing available (all DVC room sizes and all views). The December waitlist thread has had the most responses so far for AKV.

Concierge? Not likely. I thought I read that concierge was booked solid for Sept to year end.

I just called MS this afternoon and successfully reserved one week in October (5 to 12) in a Value Studio with Savanna View. I was told Savanna view cannot be guaranteed but that it will be noted on my ressie.

This was my first try... Guess I was lucky

I have 3 AKV ressies booked for '08! I am glad I could book at the 11 month mark, although I am going to try to change the December ressie to VWL at 7 months. We'll see

Last weekend was able to get 8 nights in a Savannah view studio for Oct. 18 - Oct. 26, no problems. The CM did say it was a little surprising finding them all together like that.

I just called this morning to book the last day of our Oct. reservation for a value studio and was told I got the last one! I got my 7 month res. for 3 nights in Value studio booking day by day and calling right at 9am - but each time they said there were just a handful left. I had limited points left and needed a saturday night- so I was happy to be able to book 3 nights for 34 points! Now to wait for the halloween party dates to be announced and hope we overlap with one....

I'm new to all of this - I'm looking to rent points (but that's not why I'm posting). I'm able to find availability on Disney's website for AKV for my dates- but a DVC member called and no availability. Is this usually the case? I'm just trying to get a reference point about how to figure out what is available!

I called yesterday and booked 2 rooms for 5 nights in a row at AKV in Oct. This adds onto the other 2 rooms we already have.

I am not sure why they said its "sold out". I didn't wait list any of it. I booked a value studio and a sav view.

We booked AKV for Oct and Jan at the 11 month mark. We couldn't get conceirge even though it was the 11 month mark oh well at least we got a savanah view but for our second studio for my mom for the 3rd week in Jan we couldn't even get savannah view just standard!

This week I was able to book at AKV for 1st week in October, no problem at all getting a 1BR villa.

We got lucky....we booked for Oct (our anniversary, Savannah view) Sat - Tues, at the 11 month mark, we won 25 points at the Disney reception, and called yesterday to add the Friday before, and were able to have our room for that day as well. I am very happy!!
