Doing AK on day of arrival but could not get dinner res. for either Tusker, Boma, or Yak and Yeti. Have the deluxe dining plan, thinking about in room dining at AKV in our savanna view studio. Has any one done this? Please share any info. you might have. Is it worth the 2 dining credits to sit and eat in your room with a savanna view?:ewok:

Thank you.

We haven't ordered room service there but have you considered Jiko? It's excellent. No savannah view but you can retire to your balcony after dinner.

If you are still a few months away from your trip, try calling back periodically to see if something opens up. I think they may release available seating a bit at a time plus people do make changes and may cancel an ADR that you need. If you are trying to get into places like Boma a week or two in advance that can be very difficult, especially for a weekend night where you are competing with locals as well as Disney guests.

I don't know if this would work for you but you might be able to get into Tusker for a late lunch and then have a light dinner at the Mara.

I hope something works out for you!

I just scheduled a breakfast for DH and my anniversary on the balcony of AKV savanna studio. The cost was approx. $15 pp. Now, of course dinner will be much more, but I am not sure it would be worth 2 TS credits to me. We prefer the "big guns" (Cali Grill, Yachtsman, Artist Point, etc.) if we are using 2 credits for one meal.

However, I did see on another website that they will do a private dining romance package on the balcony for $99ish. So, something like that may be worth your credits.

Are you with children or alone? (might impact the romance part ;))

Thanks everyone for the response so far. Our trip is in mid Sept. so I will continue to check res. for any openings...However, being such a control freak:goodvibes I like to have plans set in place. And no teenagers with us this go round.

DH and I always celebrate our first date anniversary...since, this was also the day he asked me to become his girlfriend. We are first boyfriend and girlfriend for each other and this fall is our 25th anniversary of meeting. Married for 22 yrs, YAH!!! And still actually like each other. So romance is the key to this trip. Just thought, room service after a long day at AK over looking the savanna sounded romantic.:lovestruc

Just did not know if better to go to a restaurant and using 2 TS vs. for room service.

We are celebrating our 15th anniversary this August at AKV. I would love to have an anniversary breakfast on the balcony. How can I arrange this, and how far in advance do I have to reserve this?

Congratulations:lovestruc Since the Savannah views are getting mostly good reviews, but there are some problems with construction, I do not think that I would risk the 2 credits for something that could just not be a magical view. We ate at Jiko's once and it was fabulous and would be worth the 2 credits.

We also celebrate the anniversary of the day we met, as well as our wedding day! They are both in June:lovestruc I like it the best when we can celebrate June 10th along the Boardwalk at Seaside Heights NJ, that's where we met!

Bobbi:)
