We got Savannah view in the new buildings for part of our August Trip! Does anyone know if construction will still be going on & if there will be a noise problem? The reservation person said they have had no complaints and everyone loves the new buildings but I can change to the main building if we want.

Can't Wait! :cloud9:

Hmmm ... nobody has stayed there yet, so I don't think there would be any complaints yet.

From my understanding, the construction is supposed to be complete by September ... so any construction during your visit would be finishing off rooms on the inside.

I forgot to add ...:cool1: .

Our window opens up on Friday and I'm hoping to book AKV as well for the end of August. I'm very excited.:yay:

Funny they say everyone loves the new AKV building since it doesn't open until 5/1/2009.

As for construction in August, I suspect that if any thing is going on it would be contained to the interior of the rooms that are to open on 9/1/2009. Those rooms are the ones at the end of Kidani Village that's the furthest from Jambo House.

I have been to AKV to stay several times this past year, and I have NEVER heard any construction noise, not even when they were constructing inside the main lodge, and my room was in the first hallway that opened. Construction noise won't be a problem for you, I'm sure. I'm more concerned about the heat, frankly. It's HOT there in August! I have gone twice recently in August(in among the hurricanes striking Florida), and it was so hot that it was hard to breathe(I am older than you, so that makes a difference). It will be easier if you have some experience with Florida weather in the summer. Good luck!;)

Since you have stayed before & know the layout I have a question. If we have the choice should we stay in the main building or the new Kidani Village?

we stayed in jambo house sept of 07, and are staying in kidani in august. i think the main thing, aside from the extra bathroom at kidani, ok two main things, would be will you prefer the existing pool over the new water park and pool, and do you prefer the existing restaurants at jambo, then i would pick jambo over kidani. the room was very nicely done and i am sure that the new kidani rooms will be also.

one other thing that i learned the other day is that all villas in kidani will be dedicated, not lockoffs, just the opposite in jambo. so if this matters to you then book accordingly.

I'm pretty sure there will be lock-off villas in Kidani. I think it's more like there are no dedicated 2br in Jambo.
