AKV, here we come. June 1-8 11/15.. Finally BACK!

That sounds like a fabulous vacation! You'll be doing two things I've been dying to do -- stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (DBF thinks it is too far away from everything) and the Disney Dream (DBF isn't much into cruises!). Maybe I'll use your TR to lure him in! haha! You must be so excited though. Have you done a cruise before?

We stayed club level at the Poly in May. The convenience of it is great. I loved knowing we would have a place to eat breakfast without having to worry about crazy crowds. It was nice to be able to grab drinks and stuff there too! I hope you enjoy it!

Holy moley lady, you update so fast! It's definitely a good thing, I'm just slow and had to catch up on most of day one all at once  Too much to comment on but I just love your TRs and can't wait for more :goodvibes

I am sooo anxious to see TS3! Definitely this week! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the Dream vacation! I'm in the process of convincing Chris we need to buy APs while we're there in July so we have a whole 15 months to go back. That will probably remain a "dream" for me :rotfl:

Good Luck on your Race... I"m excited to see your Photopass pictures (i've been debating about getting it this trip)...popcorn::

Congrats on the booking!!!

Thanks! You should get it, but pre-order it. You will save some money that way.

That's awesome! You will love the cruise, we do. It's a different Disney experience but we love it! We are going July 24, 2011-I will be celebrating my 40th bday on the Dream.

Cheryl

OMG, we love the cruise! We went on the Wonder back in 2005 and it was amazing!! I cannot wait to get to Castaway Cay. Honestly, the prices are not that bad. AHH, I just really cannot wait.

You are going to have a blast for your birthday!!

That's great news! :dance3: I haven't experienced any of that. If I'm still in Florida at that point, we'll have to meet up. :thumbsup2

Oh, that would be nice. You have to do a cruise!!

Hi Lynn! I just got back from Disney Thursday evening so I've been catching up on all my subscriptions this afternoon/evening! I love all of your pictures so far & can't wait to see your Photopass pics too! We didn't see as many characters as I would have liked, but we did see all of the main ones & some "surprise" ones that I've never seen at Disney before. I can definitely agree with you on the crowd level increase! Our dates were June 8-17th and let me tell you, it was packed! I read the sign at Cosmic Rays at MK & it said capacity was 1162...there were waaaay more than 1162 people jammed in there, trust me! :sad2:

I am so excited for you!!! Concierge & the Disney Dream & AKV...how exciting!!! A Disney cruise is definitely in my plans within the next few years. In the meantime, I can't wait to read your cruise PTR! Your pictures are always amazing! Ironically, I just watched the DVC webcast at 10:30am this morning & they showed the AKV multiple times throughout the presentation! We stayed at AKL last year, but AKVs just look amazing!

That is great that you had such short wait times for the rides & characters! Your first day at Disney sounded amazing, I can't wait to read more!!! :goodvibes

I know exactly what dress you are talking about at DHS. I saw that too! I loved that entire "street" of DHS because all of the stores had really nice shirts, dresses, jewelry, accessories, etc. My favorite stores were all at Hollywood Studios.

Good luck with your race tomorrow, can't wait to hear about it & more about your trip!

OOOH!! Sounds like you guys had a great time, though, considering the crowds. That stinks about not getting to meet most of the characters. I guess the first week of June would be the best time to go if you are going to go in the summer. I am really looking forward to going back in May. May is my ultimate favorite time to go, lol.

OOH, I have to watch that, lol! Glad you saw the dress! I agree, they do have really nice stores in DHS!

Thank you so much! It went well. I should be able to do a quick update tonight after I watch True Blood.

Sounds like an amazing dream vacation!!! We are pricing out a cruise for May 15th (or around then). I am dying to get on the Dream!

I don't think the prices were too bad, but I forget too often that it is just Tim and I without children, yet. I hope you guys go!!

Sounds amazing!!!:woohoo:
We are planning to be in the world from May 12-26 - it is definitely our favourite time of year to go!

YAY for May! lol. It really is the best time to go.

Sounds like a dream vacation. Congrats.

Glad you really enjoyed TS3. It looks like its going to be a great movie. :)

Thanks! It was good. We are seeing it again in like an hr, lol. Tim did not see it yet.

Yay!!! Congrats!!! I'm sure you will love concierge. At least, it's good to try it once, I think. I want to do it one day.

By the way, I wanted to ask you, did you see any Captain EO merchandise during your last trip?

I cannot wait! Hmm, I did not notice any.

Hey Lynn, I took my 2 youngest boys to see TS3 and we absolutely loved it. We are planning to go see it again with hubby. Good Luck on the race tomorrow. Your dream vacation sounds amazing, we would love to do the cruise but I guess we'll wait to see what you think about it.;)

OH, I love Disney Cruise Line!! They are the best, seriously!

Glad you loved the movie!! Thanks! It went well.

Sounds like an amazing vacation!! We've never cruised or stayed concierge, but all of the TR's that I've read that have done either or both have really enjoyed them!! The snacks offered as part of the concierge always look so yummy!!
ETA: We're going to Universal/IOA in August-- I'll let you know how WWoHP is!!

I have been researching concierge and I cannot wait to do the Sunrise Safari! It sounds amazing.

OOOH, please let me know. I cannot wait to have a butterbeer haha!

We did concierge for a night in November 2009. It's really a nice treat. The food selection and drinks are really good. They have this amazing Juice available all day...its similar to the Juice they serve at Kona Cafe. They also have soda and bottled water all day, and alcohol available at night. The conceirge staff is so nice and helpful too.

We had a studio with a pool view. We liked it so much we are booked in a studio for one night this October...waitlisted for another night. If the waitlist doesn't come through we have a Studio Sanannah view booked already.

On our next trip we are moving alot. We have 3 nights at the Beach Club in a studio. Then doing the Disney Wonder for a 4 night Bahamas Cruise. Back to Bay Lake Tower for 7 nights, then onto Jambo House Concierge and Jambo House Savannah view. We have a car so it isn't a big deal and I love trying different resorts.

Best wishes for a great / safe race!

OMG!!! I LOVE that juice!!!! That is good to know about the view. I don't know if we have pool view or savannah view. I will be happy with either or.

Sounds like an amazing trip you have planned!! Good for you!

Thanks! It went well.

Your May 2011 trip is going to be so much fun!!!
I seriously cannot wait. It is so sick, but I am planning it already. I need help, lol.

lynn!! i'm here!! love your updates girl!! man, the animation academy better be all decked out in ts3 when i go...that would basically be paradise!! i'm obsessed! i can't believe you hit up 3 parks and got so much done on your first day. i'm going to have to go during may/early june one year...you are making me a believer!! can't wait for more!!

and yay for ts3! I've already seen it twice and am probably going to go again. has tim seen it yet? how'd he like it? i just thought it was all so perfect.

Hi my Kimmy! It will be, don't you worry. You should go then because it really is a great time to go.
LOL, you know this already, but we are seeing it again. I will let you know what Tim thinks. We are seeing it with my mom and dad.

That does sound like a Dream vacation! We have talked about doing a land and sea vacation soon too, but are nervous about motion sickness. The Dream looks nice though. I'll be sure to join in on your PTR to hear all about that!

Oh and we just took our little girl yesterday to see TS3. Loved it! And I was psyched she made it through the whole movie, even holding onto her little Jessie doll through the last half!

Just take a dramamine. Tim took it and he was fine. Coming back to Port Canaveral is always a little rough, but it's not horrible. The boat was a rocking, though. haha.

Oh, how stinking cute! Isn't it the best movie, ever? lol

That sounds like a fabulous vacation! You'll be doing two things I've been dying to do -- stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (DBF thinks it is too far away from everything) and the Disney Dream (DBF isn't much into cruises!). It is not far away at all. Tell him he is crazy, lol. I have never had a problem with the bus service from there.

Yeah, we did the Disney Wonder back in 05 and loved it! I cannot wait to get back to Castaway Cay! It is gorgeous and I love the BBQ they have. It's so good. The Dream just looks incredible. Oh, and it makes a stop to Nassau, but we are going to stay on the ship. There will be so much to do on it. We were not impressed with Nassau, but we were with Atlantis. That was where we went when we got off the ship.

OOH, the POLY! I love it there.

Holy moley lady, you update so fast! It's definitely a good thing, I'm just slow and had to catch up on most of day one all at once  Too much to comment on but I just love your TRs and can't wait for more :goodvibes

HAHA, I know. I have not updated in a couple of days... maybe I will spread my updates out a little bit, haha.

Yeah, you have to see it soon!

Thanks!! Oh, you should get them! haha, you crack me up.

Hey guys! Hope all of you fathers out there are enjoying your fathers day!

The race went well. It was really hot, but I did not let it bother me. After running the half in January, I will take the heat. My time was 26 something, so I was pleased with that because I took it easy and ran a comfortable pace. It is important to take it easy in the heat.

Tim and I are going to go see TS3, he did not see it yet, but before I go, I just wanted to post the pics from photopass that I did not get to share from day 1.

Here is Lotso. I swear, I did not coordinate my outfit, haha.

Good job on the race! It's been so hot here that I sweat just walking out to the mailbox. LOL!

Have fun taking Tim to see TS3!

Cute Photopass pics! Love the ones with Lotso and bowing in China!

I googled the Disney Dream and it looks gorgeous! I have never been on a cruise yet but I'd definitely consider making a Disney cruise my first!

You really do match with Lotso! :lmao: So cute! The bowing in China pic is hysterical!

I'm jumpin' in on this TR!! Great pictures and you will love Concierge level. We did it last month and it was great.
Post some pictures of the lodge...we feel homesick:)

wooohoooo..see you in May!! We will be at BWV's may 19-29th!!! Hope we bump into you again this year..my boys are avid pin collecters and so enjoyed Tim's donald collection!

Lori

The Disney Dream Vacation

YAY! It is official. I called DVC guest services at 9 A.M. and I was able to book AKV concierge from the 19-25!!! I am soooo excited. This will be our first stay doing concierge. Have any of you ever done it? I cannot wait. OOH, and I want to try and do the sunrise safari at the AKL.

We are doing the Disney Dream from the 15-19. We got an ocean view stateroom. Have you guys seen the portholes? They are huge!! AHH, I cannot wait.

We will be making a visit to Universal to see WWoHP!!!! WOO HOO! When I am done with this TR, I will start this PTR asap.

Glad to hear your race went well. Loved your photopass pass pictures, the China one is funny.

I don't think I'll be doing a Cruise anytime soon but I may be in the area. ;)

Have fun taking Tim to see TS3!

Cute Photopass pics! Love the ones with Lotso and bowing in China!

HAHA, OMG that is awful. Thanks, we had fun. He liked it.

IDK if I love Lotso so much anymore???

I googled the Disney Dream and it looks gorgeous! I have never been on a cruise yet but I'd definitely consider making a Disney cruise my first!

You really do match with Lotso! :lmao: So cute! The bowing in China pic is hysterical!

I cannot wait until they have real pictures of the ship out and not the drawings. It should be your first cruise.

HAHA, I know. How funny. Tim's face cracks me up.

I'm jumpin' in on this TR!! Great pictures and you will love Concierge level. We did it last month and it was great.
Post some pictures of the lodge...we feel homesick:)

OOH, that is good to know. I am really looking forward to it. Are the concierge rooms any different from the other rooms?

I will be posting some more pics of the lodge.

wooohoooo..see you in May!! We will be at BWV's may 19-29th!!! Hope we bump into you again this year..my boys are avid pin collecters and so enjoyed Tim's donald collection!

Lori

HI, Lori! That would be awesome. Aww, the boys are so cute.

Sounds like a perfect Dream Vacation. :goodvibes

I really cannot wait!

Glad to hear your race went well. Loved your photopass pass pictures, the China one is funny.

I don't think I'll be doing a Cruise anytime soon but I may be in the area. ;)

Hi! Thanks!

Wow, you're next trip sounds amazing...swoon!!!

I really hope it will be. After my fall semester and spring semester, I am going to need this vacation, lol.

Chapter 2

After a wonderful night sleep, it was time to get up and head over to the MK for the best rope drop in Disney.

The day was gorgeous.
IMG_7744.jpg

I am like a little kid when I come to rope drop. I have seen the show a billion times, but I love to be up front, haha.
IMG_7746.jpg

We were there early and it really did not get insanely crowded as the time had gotten closer to opening.

Rope drop opens up with the mayor coming out to say good morning.
IMG_7751.jpg

Then some of the citizens come out to sing their "good morning" song. I love it.
IMG_7752.jpg

and finally the train comes to the station with all the Disney characters and the family who is chosen to open the park.

IMG_7754.jpg

IMG_7759.jpg

IMG_7761.jpg

IMG_7762.jpg

We made it in to park safe and sound. When we were in, we saw Dale walking around in his new Tomorrow Land costume. Tim was not a fan of it.
IMG_7764.jpg

Our first stop was Space Mountain. Along the way, I spotted some CMs blowing bubbles. This is one of the things I love about being the MK early in the morning. It is so cute. They also have a bubble machine inside the trash cans.
IMG_7770.jpg

Tomorrow Land seems to be the first stop for everybody in the morning.
IMG_7774.jpg

When we got to Space Mountain, it was a 15 minute wait and the line was out the door. Now, I knew that it was not going to take that long. The reason why the line was out the door was because they did not open up all of the gates inside the line to allow more people in. While we were outside waiting, Dale was shaking everybody's hand, lol.
IMG_7777.jpg

We only waited like 5 minutes outside, and then the line started moving and we walked right on the line! YAY. I was happy... Tim, however, was not because something smelled a little off. HAHA.

IMG_7776.jpg

IMG_7775.jpg

I love the guy in the background peeking into the camera, lol

YAY we made it on the ride!
IMG_7784.jpg

and our rocket was ready to go,
IMG_7786.jpg

here we go!
IMG_7789.jpg

That was the only time we went on during the whole trip. The ride was a little rough, lol. I think because I had my hair up, when my head would shake, it would hurt because my hair is so heavy, but the ride did seem really jerky. It was fun, though.

Where did I head to next?? Why, the TEA CUPS!!!! HAHA! I love them!!
IMG_7795.jpg

IMG_7796.jpg

After I shot those two pics, we walked right on!! Yeah, I know you have to be mad to go on this ride!!
WOO HOO!
IMG_7797.jpg

Tim was starting to feel sick.
IMG_7799.jpg

I was loving it!!!
IMG_7798.jpg

CONTINUED in next post..

I am very excited that you are posting Day 2 updates at the exact time I have my lunch break for work!

I have never been on Space Mountain, and it is probably my most anticipated part of our trip to Disney in October. (Well... for the stuff we're doing at Disney, at least. I am possibly more excited for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at IOA!)

CONTINUED...

After the teacups, we wanted to head over to Splash. On the way I noticed this!
IMG_7800.jpg

OMG!!! AWWWW!! I am really excited for this attraction!
IMG_7801.jpg

Sorry, but I am not sad to see Toon Town go! HAHA! Although, when I was little, I remember seeing Toon Town for the first time on the Full House episode where they go to Disney and I fell in love, so I feel bad for the little kids who love Toon Town. But, I know the Fantasy Land expansion is going to be amazing!

Tim wanted to go on Pooh, and it was walk on, so we went on. It is the cutest little ride, but I still wish it was Mr. Toads Wild Ride.
IMG_7802.jpg

oh and you can see the part of the Jesus Loves You wording in the sky. I love seeing that!

After Pooh, we started to make our way over to Splash! Now, this is how I like to see it! With the water running.
IMG_7803.jpg

IMG_7805.jpg

This is why Wednesdays at the MK is my favorite time to go.
IMG_7807.jpg

Tim and I were so happy to get on! We walked right on! Here are some pics from the ride.

IMG_7832.jpg

We grabbed a FP as soon as we got off, so that we could go on later in the day when it would be a little warmer.

I was determined to get my picture with Ariel in her human form, so we headed over to Adventure Land.

OOh, but I had to stop when I spotted my secret crush.
IMG_7834.jpg

IMG_7836.jpg

The guy who played him was really good!
IMG_7837.jpg

continued in next post...

When we made it to Ariel, her line was closed, so the CM told us to come back at 11. We had 30 minutes, so we decided to go on the Jungle Cruise.
IMG_7839.jpg

We waited maybe 10 minutes. While waiting, I noticed some signs that are posted. I love this one!! Do you know what it says?
IMG_7840.jpg

how about this one?
IMG_7841.jpg

Our tour guy was really funny. Here are some pics from the cruise.

IMG_7849.jpg

IMG_7851.jpg

This elephant is my favorite.
IMG_7856.jpg

It was a fun ride! When we got off, we had 10 minutes, so I went back to get in line for Ariel and Eric. Here they are.
IMG_7860.jpg

When, I got to her, I noticed that she had blue contacts in, lol. She was cute. I love when she brushes little girls hair with her fork.

Here is my pic.. I am super shiny from my sunscreen.
IMG_7864.jpg

and photopass. Sometimes I think the pictures taken with my camera turn out better.
Photo0026.jpg

We decided to go to Cosmic Rays for lunch because we were starting to get hungry. The Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it was going on when we got to the castle. Here is a pic of Chip.
IMG_7865.jpg

Before we made it to Cosmic Rays, I had to take a walk through the Rose Garden. I did not get to see it in January, so I was so happy to walk through and literally smell the roses.

Coming up next- some photopass pics and the Rose Garden.

oh, I love when I log on and get new updates! Great PP pics, although after seeing the movie, I'm a little surprised that Lotso is the new meet and greet character. As always, great pics. Fun to see a pic of Ariel and Eric in their new home!

:woohoo: for your Dream cruise AND concierge!! I was on the Wonder in 2007 and it was such an amazing and beautiful ship! Such a great time!!! And I LOVED CC :thumbsup2 I have seen some of the pictures of the Dream and it is so elegant....love the slide :cool1: and the rooms are so cool!! I had a veranda in my stateroom but I think I would be just fine with the porthole....save some money and they are cute!! :goodvibes Yeah Nassau is not for me :lmao: I did the Dolphin Swim (not the one booked through the ship...I booked directly so that I could do the swim not just the meet.) You are right to stay on the ship...there is so much to do.
Love your PP pictures....all of the Ariel's always look so different!! :confused3
I thought SM was smoother!! The one that hurts me is RNRRC my poor head! :rotfl2:

Tracy

Another GREAT update!!! I love the MK opening show! We fight our way up to the front too ;)

OMG thank you, thank you for posting the Ariel's world pic!!!! I am SOOO excited about the expansion! I agree (and remember the Full House episode ) about Toon Town. Sad to see it go, but excited for the future!!
