AKV for a quick trip?

We've decided to do a quick trip with a tight budget later this Fall. We'll have three nights and two park days, and we plan to do all 4 parks in those days so we'll be busy.

My question is how is the bus service at AKV, especially the transportation times to the parks? We won't have a car. I realize AKV is the least convenient of all the DVC resorts due to it's remote location, but I'm wondering how much of a factor that really is. We considered BLT and BWV for their more convenient locations, but are really drawn to the theme (and price) of AKV. Would you stay there for a quick trip or would the transportation waste too much time?

We love AKL. We have never found transportation to be an issue. Yes it is further out than other resorts, but it only maybe an extra 5 minutes of driving time. We loved that it didn't share buses with another resort too. I would definately give it a try for your trip.

What I like about AKL is that it feels like it's out of the way and after all the sites and sounds from a busy park day it's nice to chill.

Bus service is fine there (personally, I think bus service at Boardwalk is the worst!).

IMO doing 4 parks in 2 days is a waste of time. What's the rush?

The parks will still be there on your next vacation and they will probably have the same attractions and crowds. Slow down and smell the roses.

Thanks but just looking for AKV opinions here. FWIW, we're doing a Universal trip and tacking on two extra nights at WDW since we'll be in the area. Getting married next year so won't be back at WDW until 2017 at the earliest. Just want to get our favorite rides in at each park. We've been 10+ times so I know what we need to do in terms of touring.

Getting married next year so won't be back at WDW until 2017 at the earliest. Just want to get our favorite rides in at each park. We've been 10+ times so I know what we need to do in terms of touring.

In that case if you main focus is the parks, BLT might be better. Will you be at the resort enough to enjoy it's theming?

BLT is a walk to MK, monorail to Epcot and DHS and a bus ride to AK.

Our check-in and check-out day we aren't doing any parks, so we will have both days to enjoy the resort. We intend to do the pool, weather permitting, which is another reason we liked AKL - the pools looked nice. Transportation to and from AKV are not much different than other resorts. AKV is my home resort and I recently stayed there at a very busy time. Sure, it took a few extra minutes to get from place to place but I love being outside of the chaos of MK/Epcot at the busy time. We got to and from each park as we pleased.

I'm biased but I think you'll enjoy AKV without much issue with transportation.
