AKV during mid December at 7 mo. out

My BFF and I are planning a trip to WDW for Dec 15-21. I am currently booked at SSR but she really wants to try AKV. Since we'll need 2 studios, do you think we'll be out of luck? I could go for a 2BR value but that would require borrowing into the next year and I hate to go in the red during the first month of my use year. THANKS!!!!

all of december is super busy for DVC - very popular when the decorations are up. so i wouldn't count on being able to change.

if you want 2 savanna view studios, you'd probably have a better shot than 1 value 2BR as there are very few value villas. i'd suggest taking what is available when you call at exactly 7 months out first thing in the morning, or else waitlisting 2 AKV sav view studios with 2 AKV stnd view studios as a backup...

Thanks Charles. We are actually hoping for value/standard view studios as savannah will push me over my available points. Guess I should have put that in my first post . Would love value studio but would be fine with standard. I will call first thing at 7 months out and hope for the best. THanks again!

We had no problem getting savannah at 7 months out last Dec 11-18 without waitlist. We did only ask for that view though. Maybe you could shorten trip by a day or do cash ressie for a night if standard is not available.

I was able to change from OKW(home resort) to AKLV Jambo House savannah view at 7 months this year 12/25-12/30/10. I had tried the previous year and was unable, but I think we were lucky this year because we did not have NYE on the reservation. We called right at 7 months and had no problem. Loved the resort and had great animal viewings even with the extreme cold spell. Good luck.
