AKV & DDP - question about RFID refillable mug

Not sure if this question should be in the mug thread, but most ppl don't do DDP for only 1 night (we will).

We're doing only 1 night at AKV Club, and will also do the DDP. Am I able to buy the mug but not activate it until a later date by keeping my receipt? Since we're doing the Club we won't need to have soda from the food court.

Also, is the mug no longer good for length of stay? We have AKV Club for only 1 night (and DDP only 1 night), but we're doing a split stay elsewhere.

My sister and her family are joining us next October. They want to do a DP because their children (ages 2 and 6) will want to eat at character meals and buffets. My kids are 11 and 9 and we do NOT want a DP. We were all planning on staying together, but we worked out a compromise. For the first two nights, we booked 2 separate studios. Then, we will move to a 2BR for the last three nights.

My sister would like to add the DxDDP to her 2-night studio stay. Here is my question...is the mug automatically programmed as a "length-of-stay" (which is up to 14 days) or will it only give her 3 days since her reservation is for 2 nights?

If it only gives her 3 days, is there a way she can "upgrade" it? I know that she will want to use them for her entire stay, but she won't want to buy new ones on day 4.

We just got home from Jambo House (Nov 7-12) and we bought the mugs with the length-of-stay option. Each time we filled them, the screen said that refills were available until 11/21/2013 (14 days from purchase).
