Well, I'm finally able to write a quick review of AKV Concierge (only 1 1/2 months after getting home):) .

We stayed in a studio Concierge room for two nights at the end of April. Our room was just off the main AKL lobby (what a spectacular sight to walk out into!) with a pool view.

Our room was just inside the "chimney" at the far end of this picture. This was taken from the Concierge Lounge.

The room was fantastic, with one exception - no closet, just a wardrobe (to the right of the tv in the above pic). I have read on other posts that people found this to be a problem, and, if we had been staying longer than two nights and had really wanted to unpack and "settle in" we would have found it a bit difficult to do so. I'm curious to see if the new Kidani Village studios will have more storage space.

That said, we love the decor. We didn't find it too dark and just love the whole AKL atmosphere!

I'll have more to say, and pics of the Concierge food offerings, in a bit....

Thanks so much for posting. These look awesome. Can't wait to see the food pics!

Great pics! I'm planning on booking this for my next girls trip in just a few days, so I'm really interested in hearing what you have to say!!! Thanks for posting!:thumbsup2

I just assumed all the concierge rooms were savannah view. Wow. I'm surprised you'd get a pool view for the concierge level. Does anyone know what percentage are savannah?

Thanks for posting your beautiful pictures. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for sharing... looking forward to hearing more. We're staying in a concierge studio this fall!

60% are savannah view. There are 3 two BR lockouts facing the Sunset Savannah and 2 two BRs facing the pool. But since the club level is on the 6th floor and the villas are lined along the lobby, the savannah views aren't the best anyway. Too high and too tucked away at the back of the savannah.

We stayed club level twice this year, once savannah view and once pool view. I enjoyed them pretty much equally.

Great pictures, nhdisnut. Did you enjoy your stay?

Great pictures. Thanks for the review.

I recently visted AKL for the first time while staying at BWV and the CM that showed us around was telling us that the conceirge level has snacks and drinks but didnt know the specifics. Can you tell me what items were there and if it was worth the extra points? thanks

Great pictures, can't wait to see more and hear more about your stay:goodvibes

Sorry for the delay.....:)

There were so many highlights of our concierge stay, but the best part for us, was the Concierge Lounge! Food selections changed frequently throughout the day according to a schedule given to us at check-in. The pictures below show the basic set-up (during the evening). If you have a hungry teenager in your group (and we do), he/she will think they have died and gone to heaven:goodvibes !

The Concierge Lounge. The check-in desks are at the far end. No standing in line here! At check-in they personally escorted us up the elevator to the Concierge floor. Very personal and they made us feel like VIP's! Tables for eating are off to the left of the picture as well - overlooking the AKL lobby.

The lounge is the top level at the far end of this picture. That floor is only accessible with special Gold room keys.

From the nearby balcony.... It's not a huge seating area, but was never crowded. They had daily papers (USAToday, NYT, Orlando Sent., possibly others) to read, plus the HD tv (usually with Disney cartoons for the kids).

The food area curves around the entire one end of the lounge area. Here are the coffee and tea selections (including an espresso/cappuccino maker):

Some beverage selections: water, iced tea, lemonade, and a yummy African smoothie (yogurt, banana, mango, juice blend):

More beverages. I personally enjoyed the Tusker beer! ;) Wine (not my thing) was also available. If it happened to be a time of day when beer/wine was not out, all I needed to do was ask.... Ahhh....vacation!

At one end were the hot foods. Usually three selections to choose from. In this picture I believe we had a choice of grilled chicken, and African sausage dish, and an African chicken stew (YUM!).

There were also veggies, varieties of fresh hummus, cheeses, and flatbreads:

Of course, for picky eaters.....PB&J Uncrustables and gummy bears!:goodvibes

Those are my best food pics. I didn't get any other times, but the other times of day were equally as good. Breakfast was a continental affair with bagels, toast, cereals, and lots of wonderful fresh fruit. Afternoon tea had less food, but some nice cookies and other nice snacks. We never did get to have the late evening dessert food - we were out at the parks at that time.

I had forgotten to include this picture in my original post.....turndown service each night:

We enjoyed our Concierge stay so much, we have a full week booked for next April (also a studio room). We are hoping at that time to take advantage of the Sunrise Safari - just couldn't fit it in this trip.

I would be happy to try to answer any questions. Also, check out the link in my signature to some other WDW pics....:goodvibes

nhdisnut - I think we stayed in "your" room the first week in June. We really enjoyed our first stay at club level. My wife has said that it will most certainly not be our last ! We did not mind having a pool view room , as you can put me in the Lodge and I would be happy simply to be there. Thanks for posting the pics - it brought back fresh memories. :goodvibes

Certainly worth the extra points, especially with the food throughout the day. I think if you were planning commando park touring your whole stay, it might not be worth it - just because you might miss much of the food. We found that the very nature of AKV caused us to want to stay at the resort and just relax - therefore we could take full advantage of the lounge. We won't always stay Concierge, but as I noted in my last post, we are planning a full week next year. (As I said, my hungry teenage DS made the most of the food!:lmao: )

Will Kidani have guaranteed Concierge Savannah Views? Or will concierge be restricted to Jambo only?

All of the current information indicates that concierge will only be at Jambo House.

nhdisnut, great pictures!

Beautiful pictures! I'm just curious-did you see the Jonas Brothers in the concierge lounge? They were there April 29 and 30 (maybe more dates).

Thanks for the report and the pictures! I e-mailed the thread to DH who is in TX for the week. We have an AKV concierge trip planned for March:banana:
