Hi, I am hoping to rent points at 11 months out for 2 AKV Club level studios:cloud9:. Can anyone tell me where the club level dvc rooms are??? Am i going to get a savannah view or is it not guaranteed? I would be going beginning September 2013. Will it matter if I have savannah view, or will it be too dark in the early evening to see the animals? Hope some of you fantastic knowledgeable people can help me.:worship::worship:

Not to sound negative, but I wish you the best of luck in securing your reservation. There are only 5 2BR lock-offs in the DVC concierge category. This means that there is a MAXIMUM of 5 studios available and if anyone books a 2BR, that will take a studio and a 1BR out of inventory. Of those 5 units, 3 face the savanna and 2 face the pool (it might be vice versa) and the savanna views are partially obstructed by the roof and trees.

I wouldn't bother if I were you. We have stayed at CL as a AKV owner a few times and after our last stay we decided that it will be our last. It isn't worth the cost IMO. The extra services really aren't any big deal and the rooms have really bad views, that's one of the reasons that they made them CL.

Good luck on getting your reservation.

The rooms are on the 6th floor. Views are not guaranteed and are the worse views of all the AK Lodge rooms. The best views are the lower floors.

If you are going to stay Club Level, make sure to book the morning safari.....only available to club level guests.

In my opinion it is nice for about a 2-3 day stay tops, especially if you want to take some of the tours that are only offered to those staying club level. You could probably only book 1 night and still get to do the tours but I would want to experience a whole full day staying club level, so 2 nights was perfect for us.

I was playing around with my AKL points the other day and I was at the 11 month window for a possible b-day stay and checked and only 1 bedrom club levels were available. This was at about 11:00 am 11 months out for August. Don't know how it would have been if I was looking first thing. Like I said, I was just playing. I have since rented my points for next year to use for something else.

Oh....This reminded me that the couple times I stayed Club Level, I walked the reservation.

........and hi Lisa:wave2:

We stayed in a 2BR room and had a savanna view. The view was terrible and we only saw a few animals. Despite that, we really enjoyed the concierge services. It was nice having all of the beverage options throughout the day and the food offerings were very good. The best part of staying concierge was the sunrise safari. It was a fantastic experience and I would definitely stay CL again to be able to do it again. We spent four nights CL and then moved to BLT. I probably enjoyed the BLT half of the trip more because we didn't have housekeeping bugging us every day.

If your doing this for the view, forget it. The ONLY reason to stay concierge is to participate in the sunrise safari (which is not cheap). If you have no interest in that program, then you should save your $$ and book a savanna view room (at Kidani).

What does "walk the reservation" mean?

It means trying to book your room for a few days before when you actually want to stay, if you find availability at 11 months out.
Then you call MS to change the reservation every day: you remove one night at the beginning and add one night at the end, until you get the dates you want.

thank you folks thats what i thought. :( I really want to have savannah view so I will just book that category. I have been reading AKV threads for days and think I should request zebra trail near the lobby. Does this sound like a good spot. :confused3

We just got home from AKL Jambo. We had a room at the far end of Kudu trail on the Arusha Rock Savanna and it was fantastic. We had giraffes, zebras, Thompson's gazelles and Ankole cattle in view all day long. The gazelles and Ankole cattle slept right in front of our balcony every night.

I had originally requested Zebra Trail, near lobby but this room was available at check-in so we took it. We weren't disappointed and I will request this area in the future.
