AKV/AKL Shared amenities

I know this has been discussed but I never came accross a definitive answer. After the new AKV's (not the renovation at AKL) are completed, will guests be able to walk to and/or use the AKL amenities?

I read on another thread that there'll be no ability to walk between AKL and AKV. I certainly hope that's not true and I just misread it. You can't even walk there to go to Jiko's or Mara? Someone please tell me I'm wrong!

that is what they are saying.

there will be the savannah between the two resorts.

I would hope at least a sidewalk along the parking lot - but so far - it doesn't seem to be.

We just purchased 150 points. My guide told me definativly that the two resorts will actually be attached.

I was amazed to hear this!

If you look at the airial diagram of the two resorts that has been posted around the Dis you will see the new buildings W shape will touch one end of the current AKL.

Amenities at both buildings can be used, but I'm not sure about the pool. I do know general AKL guests will not be allowed to use the new AKV pool, but I'm not sure about DVC members using the Azuma pool at AKL.

Even though my guide did not know the answer he did say that the new pool area at AKV will be so nice that members will not want to go to the Azuma pool anyway.

Just thought I would pass that info along.

Unfortunately we won't know until there is official word. I would imagine that there will be some sort of path connecting the two. I'm willing to bet on it. I'm sure they wouldn't make it hard for us to spend our money at AKL, it wouldn't be good business. A path connecting AKV to AKL would be a great selling point that I'm sure they won't miss the chance to capitalize on. WL surely benefits from the revenue generated from VWL owners as I'm sure the same can be said for BCV and BWV. I'm sure the convenience of being close to the ammenities of the resort hotels was a selling point for all of those resorts.

I think either they are going to build a freestanding resort such as OKW or SSR or they will build a resort connected in someway to one of the deluxe resorts and share ammenities.

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me but it looked like a walking path between the parking lot and new building that continued around the service area and to the front of the AKL. To me it looks like you could walk. I don't know if you would want to, it would be a hike. I think someone even estimate the distance from the furthest villa.

If you were in a villa at the far end of the new building, it could be a bit of a hike. But Boma is DH's favorite restaurant so there is no walk too long, no impediment too great to keep him from getting to Boma. No matter how far it is to walk, it will still be quicker than what we go through now to get to Boma from BWV via Disney transportation!
