AK's Expedition Everest, a photo tour

^ The backwards one? In the picth black segment?
There is no backwards drop. When you go backwards it is an upward helix. The 80 foot drop is the one out the front of the mountain.

Thanks for the pics!! Going there in June and am even more excited about the trip now (didn't think that was possible!) :Pinkbounc

Brilliant pictures cant wait :woohoo: wish we were a bit nearer to until August though. :sunny:

I have a question...is it cold inside the mountain? I would think that it would be to enhance the Everest feel. Plus, a nice cold roller coaster ride would be so good in the hot sumer.

Aw man! Is it really opening to the public in April? We are going mid March and I thought we were in! I have an AP, will that help?
Thanks for the peak though!

Thanks so much for these pics--hope I can get up enough courage to ride it!
We got to ride Soarin' during the AP preview, but it was also open sporadically for the rest of the week (April 2005). I am hopeful for Feb vacation as a soft opening. Any advice on how to find out if EE is open, other than going to AK every day? Any place we can call to see if EE will be open on specific days? Thanks!

We were at disney before the official opening of mission space and GS got to ride it, they had soft openings. Ask a CM if and when the soft openings are.

Day after GS rode MS we were in the front of the monorail and the driver said here is a tip...pointed at MS & said that when ever you saw the globe thing <----brain freeze :) turning in front of mission space that it meant they were open for riders. He smiled when GS shook his head ::yes:: and told him that he had rode it the day before.

Oh my GOSH!!!

What fabulous pics!! We are heading down for the AP sneak peak weekend and due to other responsibilites we will be at WDW for less than 24 hours. We will arrive so late Sat. that AK will be closed and we will only have Sunday morning to ride before starting back at noon. Since it is a 7 hour drive for us ONE WAY, our friends and Fam think we are totally nutz!!! I can't wait to show them these pics and snap a few of my own for a little redemption!!!

I am totally juiced now and ready- bring on the Yeti!!!!

It's been said but, REALLY THANKS 4 the GREAT PICS!!! I'm in CALI and I would love to get on this ride!! I saw the spoiler video on-line of the ride (someone on the ride filmed the ride) cause I couldn't wait till our next trip and maaan it looked great!!! Great shots! I need 2 save up some $$$ so we can get there soon!!!

Thanks for the great review! Can you tell me what the backwards part of the ride is all about. My wife just read about it and said that part of the ride made her nervous. If shes nervous she won't go on it so hopefully I can tell her that its not too bad.

I wasn't sure what you meant when you said "When you go backwards it is an upward helix".

Thanks,

My dad and I missed the AP preview by about 2 weeks, and we were really disappointed! This ride looks so awesome...too bad I have no idea when I'll get to go back to WDW and ride it! I can't wait to see the Yeti...and I believe that one of those little Yeti dolls will be coming home with me because they are SO cute (though so totally un-related to Disney)! :yay:

TeenaS,

Quick question- I noted the sign regarding the harnessing system for this ride, and certain body shapes and sizes might not fit. I am a chunky monkey- I fit on RNR and MS and all other WDW rides, and I fit on all rides at the local competition. Will this ride be a no go for large people???

THanks,

Doing it again in 3 days!!!!

You will be fine. Many Disney rides feature the line that "guest of some shapes and sizes may not be able to ride."
