AK's Expedition Everest, a photo tour

That is SO cool. I can hardly wait! We'll be there next weekend for the AP weekend. Thanks for the pix.

Great pics, thanks

Anyone know, even though it isn't open to ride yet, is the gift shop open? Or open to everyone? I'd love to buy something there even if I can't ride it.

Are there going to be attraction photos like Splash, Test Track, etc??

From someone who has no idea when they will ever get to see it in person: Thanks for sharing!!! :goodvibes

Hopefully I will be able to ride it in about 14 days! :cool1: Keeping my fingers crossed, and thanks for the great photos! ;)

Gee Willikers, you did great! Thanks so much. Great shots. Were people (esp. kids) scared by the beast?

Fab pics !! Thanks for posting them. Can't wait. This time next Friday, we will be on the road heading to WDW.

Who are the people who are getting to ride it?

Who are you?

Just curious! :) Your lucky! ;)

Not yet. Right now it is only open to those at the previews.

Thank you so much for the pictures they are great! I can't wait to go on it in June.

Was the entire queue being used? (Were there like...switchbacks that were closed or something? Or is it just one direct path?) I mean..20 minute wait and its already got extended queue past the entrance? How large is the queue?

Thanks a thousand times for sharing the great pics!

We will miss the DVC/AP preview by one week, but I may have to wander over to AK while we are there just in case they need some other riders to test it out! Looks fantastic!

Thanks for sharing. I plan to be on it next Sunday and your pictures have just added to the anticipation. It looks like a beautiful environment.

Will Pooh-sized people have any problems fitting into the seat? Or getting the lap bar to come down far enough to "lock"?

That looks SO AWESOME! I want to go! :car: pixiedust:

not to spoil anything but my husband heard the Yeti is so large it is not really connected to the ride (????) but seperate while still in the ride? any idea what that would mean? maybe he misunderstood. they were saying the track isn't touching the mountain and the yeti isn't touching either? any ideas about that? i've been waiting for this and still have along wait till we go so any crumbs of info. will help make the wait more endurable :rotfl:

I just got back from riding it over and over and over again. It is wonderful!!! I now have a new favorite attraction. My description is as follows:

The Yeti is pretty intimidating for sure. It appears as a shadow first in the first half of the ride and then at the end he appears in person (huge and VERY VERY VERY lifelike). The ride is by far the best ride at Disney World in my opinion!!! It is very very fast but you don't particularly notice the speed as much because it is going around and around (like in thunder mountain railroad) and you don't really notice the drop like splash mountain because again it isn't straight, it's curvey. There are no upside down loops. The ride is much smoother than thunder mountain and space mountain .... more like rock-in-roller coaster as far as it not being real bumpy. I absolutely loved it!!!!! And the view from the top of it is unbelievable. I was hoping we'd get stuck on top! I loved the individual lap bars too because unlike other rides, if one person has a good size belly and the person next to them is a skinny child, the poor child's lap bar isn't even close to their lap. This ride prevents that from happening. Also, they even have pockets in the front for your purses, water bottles, backpacks, etc. so you don't need to hang on to them for life like space mountain, etc. I kept my glasses on and they were not joggling around on my head. Hope this helps with everyone's questions.
