Hi
Just wondering if someone could point me to a site or thread where there were good pics of AKLV; not only pics of the studios, but also of where they are located on the AKL property.

Also, any reviews? Pros/cons? We've stayed at AKL before and loved it. We'd love to rent points at a studio in the future!

Thanks!

The new building (Kidani Village) is still under construction so at the moment the only part of AKV that is open is located on the 5th and 6th floors of the lodge building. Most of the AKL hotel rooms on the 5th floor and all of the AKL hotel rooms on the 6th floor have been converted into DVC villas. Since you have stayed at AKL here is what was done to convert an AKL hotel room to a AKV studio. The bathroom and vanity area is unchanged. They replaced the closet with a kitchenette. Instead of two queen beds there is one queen bed and a sleeper sofa. The large TV armoire is gone and replaced with a dresser with a flat screen TV hanging on the wall above it. Since there is no closet, there is a wardrobe just beyond where the closet used to be.

There are links in my signature to photos of the model rooms that will be built in Kidani Village. The 1BRs in Kidani are quite different from those in Jambo House (the Lodge building) but the studios are similar enough to give you an idea of the size and the furnishings. The model rooms have a little broom closet for the vacuum cleaner and ironing board but many of the Jambo House studios do not have one in which case the vacuum cleaner and ironing board take up half of the wardrobe.

We just got back! We had a booked a standard view value studio and were given a savanaha view which was nice but there was alot of construction going on so that might bother some people. We had a great time love the resort but the room was small and the sleep sofa was really uncomfortable we probably wouldnt do a studio again here. We were fine in the studio at the BC this bed seemed worse lol. If you can rent points its a great deal :goodvibes

Thanks for your help. It's tough to decide on the best place to stay with in infant!

Okay, a little bit of confusion here. What is a "standard view value studio"? From your description, it sounds like you had a value view studio booked, not a standard view. Standard views at Jambo are pool views only. If you got a savanna view, it had to be a value view booking, and they are smaller rooms.

Sorry yes it was a value studio I assumed all value studios had a standard view like of the parking lots or something. We did have a savanaha view.

The Value villas are located along both sides of the hallway at the front of the resort so they can have a view of the pool, the Sunset Savanna or the parking lot. So you won the Value villa lottery getting a savanna view!
