AKLV available?

I received the literature for the new Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas yesterday and although I originally wasn't interested, I'm kind of considering it right now. From what I understand, the price per point is $101 but that we will get an $8 discount per point if we buy at least 100 points. I also said that AKL will be available in Spring 2007. Any ideas when it will be officially opening? I have reservations for early April and I would love to be able to change them to AKLV if they were open by then.

That's exactly what I wanted to know! I wonder if you will have to have purchased points at AKV in order to book in May. My guess is that you will and that the people that didn't purchase there will have to wait until later to be able to book there.

Yes you are correct -- AKV owners can book starting May 16th and everyone else can book starting June 6th.

Anybody know the current price for Saratoga? Just curious.

I'm in for the extra 100pts at AKV... can't pass it up. currently have 220 at VWL and love it -- but have been using 270/year lately....

I am not intrigued by Saratoga -- but Animal Kingdom Lodge is a must --- I'll just stay there every other year or something....

I think that the phones are ringing off the hook -- I'll bet they sell out of these fast.... any ideas on how big this will be? My understanding is that VWL is the smallest.... and it sold out pretty quickly.

I spoke to my guide today -- these sales are good through 2057.

I was joking with DD27 yesterday. She loves AKL and is really looking forward to staying at AKV. We realized she would be 77 when the points expire. So I figure I'm buying points that will eventually be used by not just children, but grand-children, great-grand-children and possibly even great-great-grand children. By that time I will be long gone. I wonder if they will even remember who bought the points then. All they will know is somewhere back in time, someone made it possible for them to go to WDW and stay at AKV every year.
