Akl ???

I really want to stay at AKL in the future. But this next trip we're staying at ASMo. If we go to AKL to check it out, have breakfast there, can we walk around the grounds and get a real feel for the place?? Do you think someone would let us see a room as well?? I just want to get a feel if it's worth the extra money from say CBR, which we've stayed a twice before.

I don't want to use the pool and won't bring my AMSo mugs....PROMISE!! just want to see it.

Sure....go check it out! Have breakfast at Boma and then walk around the savannah viewing areas. It's a really pretty resort with great theming. Don't know about seeing the rooms but it never hurts to ask.

I did this a couple of weeks ago (although I did not ask to see a room - if you look on Deb's site there are great pics of the rooms). I was as CSR for a conference (what a terrible thing getting paid to go to Disney for 5 days!). I had always been a little nervous about eating a Boma or Jiko, or even staying there so, while there my friend and I went to Boma for Breakfast (which was incredible!) and visited the public areas of the resort. It was lovely and we got lots of great pics of the animals.

I liked the resort so much and my family liked the pics of both the animals and the resort itself that we are seriiously considering adding a third hotel to our split stay in Dec '07.

We just returned from a trip to AKL........ all I can say is WOW!!!! It is gorgeous, and IMHO WELL worth the price increase!!! We are actually planning our next trip as I speak!!! Go over and have breakfast at Boma, make an ADR!!!!! It is AWESOME, the best breakfast buffet at WDW again, IMHO.......... and then go explore... the grounds are beautiful. It wouldn't hurt to ask at the check in desk if it's possible to see a room....... I think they'd let you, especially if you tell them you are considering a stay and would like to see the room. We had a deluxe savannah view with bunk beds.... I LOVED it!!! I'll try to post a pic in a little bit. You will love AKL though, it is amazing!!!!

Whenever we've been to the Animal Kingdom Lodge (their gift shop rocks), we've told the gate guard that we just want to check out the property. We've been waved through with a huge smile and usually a "make sure you have your camera with you!" You'll get a feel for the place about two minutes after you get the lobby.
