AKL vs VWL vs BWV?

We own at AKL and have a one bedroom standard view booked at Kidani in October. We have stayed here a few times and love the pools, dining, and atmosphere of Kidani. What we don't love is the LONG walk when we get a room way out on the edges (we know "someone" has to stay in those rooms lol). I was hoping to get another room at BCV, but sadly that doesn't look to be an option with rooms already booking up. So branching out, we are debating staying in a garden view BWV or staying at Wilderness Lodge.

Both of those would require us to add some one time use points so would either of those be worth $300 for a week over AKL? We stayed Wilderness Lodge for one night and thought it was very nice, but I was wondering if the construction (or at least the DVC pool) would be done by then?

I own both BWV and AKV and I am not sure I would pay $300 to switch resorts either way. In any event, if you have not done BWV before, you may want to give it a try if you can find an opening (don't know your dates but even the pool/garden 1BR can disappear before 7 months out for any given dates in October, including having it disappear for some of the days you want just before you get to the time when you can book it).

In making the change, the disappointment will be room size and bathrooms, since the Kidani 1BR is 100 sq ft larger and has two bathrooms to BWV's one, and you do not get the chair that pulls out to a twin. Also, if you have little ones, I consider the Kidani pool with the elaborate kids water play area to be the better option for the pool. The BWV advantage by far is location. You can walk to Studios and Epcot (or take a boat), and the combination of the parks and Epcot resorts puts you within walking distance of about two dozen restaurants. You also get nightly activty on the boardwalk. Note, that you can also have some fairly long walks to lobby at BWV although the longest is about 1/3 the distance from lobby to the end of the north wing at Kidani.

Thanks! It will be DH, DD 12, DS 11, and myself. There are openings now, so that is why were are talking about it. Our booking window opens in a few days, so if it books up, we will just stay at AKL.

October is F&W time at Epcot, and for sure, I would pick BWV for that stay if available, but you will have to deal with sleeping arrangements for your son and daughter. I don't have to deal with that complication.

If I were you, I would probably stay put.

The hallways at BWV can be very long too, so you might not eliminate that aspect. We end up walking quite a bit more than other resorts when we stay at BWV. The walk to HS is quick, but fairly long. The walk to the IG isn't too long for Epcot, but if you want to hit the front of that park? It's a really long walk. We find that we walk less when we stay at OKW, we always have a car. There is just a lot of walking at WDW! I do think that we walk more when we stay at BWV though.
