AKL Upgrade Standard Savanah to Deluxe Savanah

I stayed at AKL last year and was lucky enough to be upgraded from a standard view room to a savanah view room. This time, I knew I had to pay for the view I really wanted so I booked a savanah view .

My question is for people who were upgraded to deluxe savanah view. Did you ask for an upgrade or were you surprised? Did you have anything special in your reservation, like "high floor"? Did you like your room?

We booked a savannah room, and wer eupgraded to a deluxe savannah room without asking for it. It was a very nice room, but it was almost the last room from the elevators on the fifth floor, so it was quite a walk to our room. I'd take it again though.
