AKL to TTC?

I may have already answered this question myself but I wanted to hear some other opinions. The past two trips to WDW we have drove and had the "luxury" of parking at the TTC and taking the monorail over to MK. I've actually grown to love the monorail trip over and seeing the castle peek out, and for our upcoming trip I thought it would be a fun way to say "look at the castle! we're almost there!" (maybe that's just a magical moment for me idk)
We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, first time onsite, and I didn't realize the busses go directly to MK instead of stopping at the TTC. I feel like the bus ride won't be as magical as the monorail, but is there even an easy way for us to go straight from AKL to TTC? I found a transportation map online and it doesn't look promising but I thought I would check just in case. I may just have to suck it up and be okay with the bus :P

Nope.

Unless, of course, you're willing to shell out the money for a cab.

Nope no direct way. Maybe just one day you could go via EPCOT. Bus to EP, Monorail to TTC then to MK, a day that EP has am EMH and you're not going to EP. Other than that, no.

That's what I thought thanks guys! I did see the Epcot route but I feel like my family would hate me for making them detour so much :P Guess I'll just have to have my magic moment at a different time.

As a PP said maybe that first day go to Epcot and then Monorail it over to the MK.

I have found, through the eyes of my 6yo DD, it is magical no matter which form of transportation you take when you see it the first time each trip. The first time we took her she was 3.5 years and we stayed at OKW and she got so excited seeing it on the bus, I can still hear her say, "Look, It's Cinderella's Castle". The last two trip, 5 and 6 years, we stayed at FW and took the boat and she got just as excited.

I can understand wanting to arrive at the MK via a specific way. My favorite way is by boat. As a kid, I enjoyed the monorail, but there was something special about arriving from the boat. It is one of the reasons I loved staying at FW Cabins.

The last couple of times I stayed on-site, I made sure to arrange one day for my arrival at MK via TTC. One day, I started at Epcot and park hopped via monorail to TTC. The other time, I took the bus to Epcot and then walked right onto the monorail and transferred at TTC to the boat.

Just a suggestion, but are you going to a park on arrival day or departure day? If not, and you have a couple of hours, you could do a sight seeing trip. Take the bus to Epcot and get on the monorail to MK. You can do the MK loop, maybe stopping at one or two of the resorts. Then get off the monorail at MK and take the bus back to AKL.

The Epcot monorail transfer was actually what I was considering but I like your suggestion better! My husband and I are going to a park on arrival day but the rest of my family isn't and we didn't plan on heading to the park right away (flight arrives at 11:30 and we just have dinner plans in Epcot) so the sight seeing/resort hopping would be fun! Thanks for the route tip! I will pitch that to my family and see what they say. :D

You could go to AK, not enter the park, take a bus to the Contemporary and take the monorail to the TTC from there..
