If we have an 8:30am ohana breakfast what time do we need to leave AKL to make it in time? I know we will take a bus to MK then hop the monorail resort line to the poly. If we are at the AKL bus stop at 7:30 is this enough time? We are checking out of AKL on this morning and will have bell services transfer our belongings to our second resort.

And as a follow up if you could help me out....if we arrived at Magic kingdom after breakfast maybe around 10:30am, how long would the wait be for pirates of the Caribbean on a crowd level 8 recommended day? Thanks.

We just returned from AKL. We had a 10 am breakfast ADR at Kona one morning and we got down to the bus stop at 8:40ish thinking we would have plenty of time - and didn't make it to Kona until 10:05! We waited around 30minutes that morning for a MK bus. At one point, we even considered getting on the 2nd Epcot bus that rolled through while we were waiting. We rode MK buses 3 mornings - the other 2 times we waited around 10 minutes and 20 minutes for buses.

Disney's official rule is to leave yourself 90minutes for travel time...there are so many variables that 1 hour may be just enough time or not...if not a burden, I recommend taking a cab. We do that sometimes for early morning breakfast ADRS...it makes the morning seem less rushed and is less stressful. You can get a cab in the front of the resort and I would give myself at least 45minutes...that's just me as I'd rather show up late then early for and ADR. And now you can swipe a credit/debit card for cab rides if you prefer.

As far as wait time for POTC...it's a popular ride and at 10:30 the park starts getting busy so the wait time may be over 1/2 hour. Not sure. If it's a "must" ride for you, you can use FP+. I haven't gone on POTC in awhile so can only guess on this one. If you do go by and line is too long for you to wait, you can try to get a 4th FP+ for it after you use your first 3.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention we will have two kiddos with us, one in a booster and one in a car seat, and we aren't bringing car seats with us, so a taxi is out. We are Leary of using a taxi without proper restraints. So we will use disney transportation.

Our experience has always been that a cab will take you to the TTC and then you still have to do the monorail thing. They have refused to take us directly to the park or resort. Maybe it is just the drivers we had????

We use cabs periodically and have always been take to the resort. I never used a cab to go to a theme park though, so I cannot comment on that. Our last trip was in October, and never had a driver refuse to drop us at the resort entrance.

Cabs can't take passengers to the Magic Kingdom. Only buses are allowed. But there's no legitimate reason for a cab driver not to take someone directly to any MK-area resort
