AKL Std. Room - Best Location?

What room requests would be bets for an AKL std. view? Are you pretty much just limited to the Ostrich or Giraffe Trails facing the parking lot? Please help!!

Did you get a price for the pool view? It only cost me $70.00 more(total). otherwise Maybe you could request to be on an upper floor??? that way at least the cars wont be direcly in front of you

I wouldn't make a room request with a standard room. My theory is you are more likely to get an upgrade if you don't ask for anything specific. If you ask for a certain location of standard room, that is probably what the CM will try and find for you. That being said, when we stayed at AKL in a standard room, we were put in the giraffe trail on the same floor as the lobby. Our room did face a parking lot, but there was a lot of foliage in front of the balcony. If we wanted to see the animals, there was a large viewing window a few doors down from our room.

This has been my experience as well
Twice I have booked standard view rooms at AKL, both times with a Passholder rate. Both times I was upgraded to savannah view rooms. A few weeks ago I had a rack rate GV room at the GF and was upgraded before check-in (noticed it online when I accessed my reservation) to a Theme Park View
