I am thinking of staying in AKL standard room. Is there one location better than others? Any specific wing closer to bus? How frequent are buses? Thanks.

I don't know about the standard rooms. I didn't find it at all that far to walk around the whole resort. The buses though, were great. Best we've had at any resort. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus going either way. And they were never packed. We could always find a seat!

We just returned from the AKL, where we stayed in a standard-view room. We were on the fifth floor, on the Giraffe Trail, overlooking the front of the building, over the tops of trees. A very lovely room with bunkbeds and surprisingly quiet, considering that we faced the front. The location was the best -- close to the pool, the lobby, the bus stop and the food court. It was very convenient with little kids. I had heard that some of the standard-view rooms have balconies with enclosed railings, which make the rooms seem darker, but we had an open balcony, and it was still lovely to sit outside most nights and just enjoy the peace. Yes, peace, even though we faced the front of the building. It was a great location for a standard-view room.

We were in room 5102 and it was great. Quite, views of a wall (porch was sort of enclosed) and some thatch roofs, not a parking lot.

We were a few steps to the elevator that lets you out right by the pool, restaurants, store and busses.

Busses came about every 15-20 minutes
