AKL Standard Room

We are planning a 12 nite stay at the AKL in late October 2003 (first trip to WDW). I plan on booking two connecting standard view rooms with a AAA discount later this year and hope to upgrade these rooms to a Savannah view with an Annual Passholder discount if one becomes available next summer. When I make my initial reservation should I request a specific trail or rooms for a standard view? There are minor mobility issues for two of the older members of our party, but we also would like quiet rooms. Some contributors to this forum have expressed concern about noise/traffic for standard view rooms on the Giraffe trail. Any thoughts on my plan and suggestions on Standard view room locations with our issues would be much appreciated.
