Now thats a phrase I don't hear very often :)

The rates I compared were about $10 cheaper for AP vs "the codes"

I ended up switching to AKL savannah room $149 (per tax) per night.

I just booked two nights ( Oct.20,21 ) for the new AP rate of $169/night for a savannah view room. Came out to $375 with the tax.

I called on Sunday and the AP rate does beat the current code rate (saved over $30). I booked a standard room, since I got a great rate. I'm hoping for an upgrade to maybe another view room, since I am going during a slow time, but am not holding my breath. If I can, great. If not, no big deal. Got a great rate and this will be the first time for me to stay at this hotel. Besides, I'm hardly in the room, except to sleep, so a view is not my biggest concern. I was also able to get the WL standard view room for the same great rate. Again, am hoping for another view, but if I can't, no biggie. I'm going to be at WDW!!!! And that's what matters to me!!!

is that for a deluxe room or a standard room?? The rate I got with the AP discount was $149 a night, the code rate was $159, both these rates are for savannah view standard room.

EDITED to add

Maybe the difference is "season" when I am going it will be value season. I forgot about different seasons, different rates.

What is the difference? I am sure that if there is a difference my reservation will be for a standard.

I believe the difference betweena deluxe room and a standard is that the deluxe is bigger (I honestly do not know). But I just checked and your stay is during "regular" season vs mine being in "value" which is why your AP rate is different then mine.

For those booking a standard room at AKL I just wanted to mention one thing as several have said they want to nap or have a quiet room. A few of those standard rooms are DIRECTLY ADJACENT to the bus stop, separated only by a high wall. To me these would be the worst rooms at AKL as there will be people talking outside your room/bus noise etc a lot of the time. If you want quiet, you should probably request an upper floor. I've never read a post by someone who stayed in one of these but I can't imagine you wouldn't have some noise out there.

For those interested in seeing a Savannah view, if you haven't seen my pictures here's a link:

Have a great time y'all - it's a beautiful resort.
