Well after I'm the one that started the thread and then w/ the race for the Presidential Suite and all..... I've changed to the WL. I was thinking of changing after reading some bad reviews about the construction. Well I thought I'll show DH the pics of WL and he will ASSURE me that AKL is where we would prefer to be. Well honey, that backfired on me. DH actually likes the WL better.
So for once he was encouraging me to change.

Anyway I'm excited either way and you all can fill me in on AKL when you get back.

You will love the WL. It really is great. So far it is our favorite WDW resort....we will just have to see how AKL compares to it. Who knows what the construction will be like in four months. Trying not to let it worry us.

I'm glad to hear that you like WL. I am looking forward to it. I'm sure you're stay at AKL will be wonderful. I really expected DH to say that it'll be ok, let's stay put. I didn't think he would fall for WL like he did. lol That's what I get.

I Run Long, maybe they will move us after you leave and we can at least have it for our last two days....that would be better than nothing. At least we would know someone who stayed in the "Suite"! HA!!!

Carol/Huston I hope someone from Disney is watching this board so that they know there are more than a few people looking to get this suite. Feel free to take it over from us when we leave, although I know I won't want to when the time comes.

We will be at AKL on our honeymoon 9/14-23 in a standard room.

I've never stayed there before, only ate at Boma and meandered through the lobby a bit, but it was the only deluxe in our price range that was available that week! I don't quite know what we're in for.

I'm trying to spread the word on as many threads as I can about surprising my DF while we're there. We had a pretty spectacular engagement story at MK last year and it was big news, even made it to the Disney CM newsletter, and I want my DF to think he's some kind of celebrity. If you're going to be there the same time we are and you see 2 lovesick kids running around with the bridal Mickey ears and pins, ask if they're the ones with the "cool proposal story at MK" and it just might be us!! I can just hear it now: "How did they HEAR about that?!?! Who told them?!?! Was it really that big of a deal that people are still talking about it?!?!" He'd really get a kick out of it.

Lets see it could go something like this.... So are you the ones I read about online about your big big Disney Engagement and are now here for your Disneymoon. Why yes, that is us, where did you hear about it. Oh I saw a story about it online somewhere, maybe FOX or CNN or something with a couple of letters, I read so many different stories it's hard to keep track (or DIS). Well congratulations and have a great time!!!!!!!!!!

They are all three letter abbreviations, I might get confused and claim the info came from a major media source..............

Welcome back!!!

We changed our minds a couple times early on before free dining when we were at a mod. When free dining came out we went back and forth between AKL and WL. We finally settled on WL, but could not get a standard view room for the dates we wanted. Finally we ended up AKL and decided it would be great. I have thought more than once about trying to switch to WL, but decided just to stick with AKL since it looks like a great place too.

Every now and then I worry about the construction, but always convince myself that we will be gone during the primary construction times. Even most of the "negative" posts about it lead me to believe that it will be okay. We have just decided that it is such an awesome place and that we WILL have a GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read your post over on the "JAMBO" thread and agree with you.

ktink, glad you came back! You must have told your husband you had a good chance at the Suite!!!!!

We all need to keep positive about the construction and not let it scare us off. I'm sure we will have a great stay, I can't wait....almost wishing the summer away; however, as fast as time goes, it will be our turn before we know it! (under the 4 month mark and counting.)

Thanks Carol, I haven't enlightened DH on the suite yet. And you're right about the construction. When I called CRO and was changing from WL to AKL I told the CM that I was concerned about the construction. Her name was Jessica and while most CMs are very nice she seemed to be very nice and aware of what was going on, a smart cookie in other words. Anyway Jessica told me that alot of people had been cancelling AKL she said it seems panic has stricken one of the message boards. She assured me that yes there is construction and it could be loud and that we could even see something going on but that the construction will be during the time of day that most people are out of the room. And I think Disney does everything first class and I think that they will do the best to make their guests stay comfortable.

Hello all! We'll be at AKL come he** or high water from the 16th to the 22nd. There will be no discouraging me! I'm feeling positive! We are coming for our 1st on-site trip with our nieces, aged 10 and 12. It will be my and DH's 2nd trip, my nieces, their 1st ever!!! Since it seems no one else will be there, perhaps that Presidential Suite will be open for us (LOL!) Anways, I'm looking forward to being there in the worst way, and have to say, I'm missing the Tusker House for breakfast on the Sunrise Safari. Does anyone know where we be eating instead? We are staying concierge, and have the premium plan, so we are definately looking forward to all those cool perks. I can only hope you earlier visitors have a good time, and leave some pixie dust behind for us!
