AKL renovations in 2016 - how extensive?

Hi,

Does anyone know exactly what is involved in the 2016 renovations at AKL? We are booked for 4 days in the middle of Jan and I am concerned about the effect it will have on our time there. I thought that it was simply soft goods in rooms but now have heard that it includes the CL. What else might be involved?

Please let me know if you have an additional information. I am wondering if I should try to move resorts.

Thank you!

The Cl refurb isn't until later in the spring. It has moved around a bit but most recently I got a start date of 5/1/16.

They are starting soon with a soft goods refurb of the DVC and club level areas. If you call they will tell you the above, but that only pertains to what they are doing with the CL lounge. All of us staying DVC and club level late Jan- April have gotten letters about the construction.

Softgoods, in general, is defined as wall covering, carpet, paint, linens, etc. Limited furniture stuff. The main noise will be things like carpet or wallpaper removal or install. Softwoods tends to smell more than sound.

We aren't staying CL this time around, but the CL is open to the lobby, so I prefer if it isn't being worked on during our stay. The fact that it isn't supposed to start until May is promising, though. Thank you for the insight.

Oh dear! So late Jan will be affected to some degree apparently. My dates are 18 - 22. So, perhaps I should move to the Poly or GF. Thank you for sharing.

I know that I am very particular, but I might as well admit it that I am easily disturbed by construction or rehab activity. Noise or smell, I am likely to lose sleep and be unhappy.
Very good information to know, however!! Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your replies. It does sound like there will be minimal impact on our stay. I will have to think about this a bit, I guess. It is getting late for switching resorts, but I do still have options, which is great.
