AKL Pool view

I am currently booked at CSR with the AP discount for May 1st-9th, but am thinking seriously about doing a split stay (4 nights at CSR and 4 nights at AKL pool view). I have seen some pictures though where the pool view seemed to be mainly the roof tops, rather than the pool. For people who have had a pool view room at AKL which do you think is better to request the Giraffe Trail or the Zebra Trail?

For a pool view room I'd go for Giraffe trail. We had a pool view room there and had a wonderful view. You could see part of the savanna beyond the pool, so it was neat to watch the people and the animals cavorting. I honestly liked the pool view better than the savanna view.

We are going in September and thinking of doing the same. But we are booked at CBR thinking of swithcing the the AKL pool view. I would love a savanah view but for the price we would stay at the Poly garden view for 200.00 more.

Last May we had a Pool view room at AKL. WE LOVED IT!!! We were on Zebra trail 4th floor. Beautiful room and convenient to the elevator that went straight down to the pool/Mara/laundry.

i never stayed on giraffe trail but we loved our zebra trail pool view room! we were room 4272. we were right down the hall from the pp who said they were near the elevator. only we were at the end of that hallway, a further walk but we were right next to a staircase that took us right to the pool, right near the hot tub . this was also right by an overlook and by the flamingos, so we felt like it was the best of everything. just down that staircase and around the side of the pool and there was the mara and the arcade. we would be thrilled to get that location again, it was wonderful.

Wow that sounds like a great location! Are there any rooms that open out directly to the pools and hot tubs? I've stayed at AKL once before, but was in a savanna room. We didn't really spend any time at the resort to even use the pool or restaurants. This time I'd like to take a few days just to relax and enjoy the resort amenties.

Also does anyone have any idea what time the African story teller starts? Thanks!
