AKL or Wl ?

Which resort would you choose for free dining? The only thing in our budget is a standard room at either resort. We have stayed at the Wl but never at the AKL. What did you perfer.

I would go with the Wilderness Lodge because of it's location.

They are two of my favorites. If I was going with a standard room I would chose WL.

Hmm ... if you've already tried WL (awesome resort) ... why not try something new and go for the AKL - especially since it's "sort of" a discounted stay what with free dining and all.

Either way, standard view rooms at both places are limited in general, so you may want to make your free dining package ressie asap!

We've never stayed at AKL, but we LOVE WL . Since you've stayed at WL and if you're looking for something different, give AKL a try . I'm sure AKL is a terrific resort .

Since you already tried WL, unless you plan to spend all of your time at the MK (then you'd really want that boat every day), I think you should try AKL.

AKL is amazingly themed, like WL, but more exotic. There are many public places to sit quietly and look out over the savannahs and watch the animals, not just the balconies in the savannah rooms. There are also activities like flamingo feedings, storytime at the firepit, watching the animals at night with night-vision goggles, etc. The pool area is really pretty, too.

I'm sure you'll be happy with either place, though. Just depends if you want the comfort of an old favorite or feel like being adventurous and trying something new!

akl is a very nice resort though. we just enjoy the wl theme a little bit more.

AKL is by far my favorite resort. BUT, if all you can have is a standard room, I'd go for WL. I really think Savannah is a must for AKL, and upgrades are not guaranteed.

I agree with all of the above... AKL is wonderful but IMO is only worth it if you have a savanna view.

We have stayed @ both, but prefer the AKL. (std room or not)
Both are excellent choices, but why not go where you've not been?
You never know when you will get another chance to get back there!

I was just as confused as you were! I was stuck between AKL or WL, I haven't been to either. I realized that when I called to book, there are only certain rooms you can book. I couldn't get a savannah view (so why go to AKL?) so I booked with WL but had to take a room with bunkbeds! It's my anniversary...should be interesting
