AKL or WL?

It's my first time in a deluxe. I like to go to downtown disney. I am slightly worried about the location of AKL.

Don't be. The bus service there is very reliable and nice. Actually, both of these resorts appear to be quite similar except for very different themes. They seem to be built to the same style, is what I mean.

Simply go with the one that appeals to you the most! I would have a wicked time trying to decide between the two myself.

Could you possibly split your stay between the two?

AKL does feel a bit like it's in the north forty...but it's a lovely resort and you've got the animals romping about in your backyard! That being said Wilderness Lodge is fantastic!!! The location is wonderful!!! There are a lot of trails to walk and the theming is the best at WDW in my humble opinion...

They are very simaler resorts...you just have to decide if you prefer woodland creatures or savannah creatures!!

If it were me, I'd go for AKL. We hope to stay there someday. We love WL, but hope to stay at AKL in 2008.

As far as transportation, AKL doesn't share busses with any other resort, so it's direct to/from everywhere! That counts for a lot.

And keep in mind that the WDW property is pretty huge, so no matter where you stay you're going to be doing a bit of traveling.

AKL-Hands down! This resort is awesome. Bus transportation is good, it is however kind of far away from everything except for AK. It's about a 15 bus ride to MK and about the same or a little longer to DTD. But all-in-all not bad. The resort itself is worth every dollar you spend IMHO. It's like getting 2 vacations in 1. Try it you'll love it !

AKL hands down again - very short ride to DTD. WL - stayed there in 2005; all buses are shared with another resort; ride to DTD took almost an hour; took a cab to get home because the bus service was so bad.

I haven't stayed at WL, but I did stay at AKL and absolutely loved it. The location was no problem for us.....the bus ride isn't bad at all.
