Tell me the por's and cons of both. I have a DD 6 DS 9 (turning 10 at the world) DM 51 and me 30. These are the ages we will be when we go in 2006. Please help... Well at leat i have got ot down to 2 Deluxes (at least for now) I plan on 5 nights at POP and 5 nights at one of these 2 Deluxes. Susie

I love WL especially the boat ride to MK. AKL would be a great resort to relax and enjoy a non-park experience but I think if you are going for MK, then stay part of your time at WL

Try first 5 at WL, do MK, ride boat to Cont, pick up monorail to TTC and then ride to Epcot. You can catch a bus to MGM or AK. For POP you will be riding buses to the parks. On the day we go to AK, I like to plan a meal or even a couple of hours at AKL to see the lodge and the animals, then rise the bus to Downtown or to another park.

We have stayed at both resorts and I would give my personal vote to AKL. They are both very similar (designed by the same architect), but what AKL offers that WL does not is the animals.

Neither resort is on the monorail so therefore, I feel they are sort of isolated from the parks. I know others feel AKL is much more isolated, but they are about the same to us (we usually have a rental car and use it mostly for our transportation). About the only other connection other than busses and cars that WL has to the parks is a boat.

I also give a small edge to AKL for having Boma restaurant.

Since they are so similar, to us, it comes down to the view. To pay for the best view at WL, you get a view of a fairly noisy pool. To get the best view at AKL you can watch all the exotic animals anytime of day (and night). Even if you don't have a Savannah room, you can view the animals in tons of different places. It is really fun to do, and a very unique hotel experience.

Just my 2 cents! I'm sure you will hear from fans of both resorts, so it will probably be a tough choice to make!

I guess it depends on what is most important to *you*!

We loved loved loved our WL stay. The resort is so beautiful. Everything is under 1 roof and within a short walking distance. The pool areas are awsome. The quiet pool really is quiet (our room overlooked it and it was never busy during our stay). It has the marina for renting water mice, etc. You can rent bikes (all kinds). There is a nature trail to FW.

We especially loved the intra-resort convenience. There is a small boat that connects WL to CR and FW. It is so easy to hop over to Chef Mickeys, Trails End, or the campfire/movie at FW.

We found the transportation to be execellent during our stay. You have the large boat to MK. The small boat which runs WL/CR/FW (any order). Buses to everywhere else. We never had a long wait for a bus or boat.

I'm sure ALK is lovely too. My 5 yo really wants to stay there. 2 main points that make dh & I hesitate. No mariana. No direct access to other resort for their resturants, you must transfer at a park or DTD.

Have fun deciding what resort is best for *you*! You'll have a wonderful trip no matter where you stay!

We stay at WL for the majority of our trip since our kids are little and we spend the more days touring MK.

Then, for the last two nights we move over to AKL and spend two days touring AK. It works out great because we don't have a need to go back to the MK or Epcot areas by the end of our week. We enjoy AK and AKL and it makes our trip seem like two separate vacations.

We break it up this way:

5 nights WL
2 nights AK
then
2 nights VB
