Just back from Akl had a great time, know looking to go again next year but we loved the Akl so much should we go back there or try another resort?
any suggestions?

That is such a tough question. We've stayed at many different resorts and that is a neat thing ... in itself. Depends on what you are looking for out of your stay ...what type of atmosphere you want ...what you want to do. I think you would have to provide us with a bit more info to give you suggestions. Without knowing you and who is traveling with you that is a hard one. We love AKL and stay there at least once a year. Sometimes we split our stay doing a moderate first and then a deluxe. Each trip is different as we have a different purpose so it depends.

AKL is our favorite, but we are still going to try all the resorts. I would suggest WL. It was designed by the same architect as AKL and is a wonderfully themed, relaxing resort.

Sorry for the lack of information, family of four 2 adults and son 15 daughter 13. We will be staying two weeks and would like to spend more time in the hotel this time. Our main problem is because we loved the Akl so much, flying all the way from England to another resort and wishing we were at Akl but at the same time we would like the excitement of staying somewhere new.
Have others felt like this?

If DH is along, we only stay at AKL. When he's not along, I have to at least visit a few times (and pick up some Zebra Domes!) or I have withdrawals. I can't see us ever staying anywhere else. :paw:

Hi Jonkatony, we too got back recently from our first stay at AKL. We loved it so much that my husband and kids want to stay there next July, too. I offered them Poly, Beach Club or WL, but no...it will be AKL for us again. It was so nice, we're afraid of being disappointed with anything else. Best of luck with your choice! :flower:

I really love AKL, but I make it a point to stay at a different resort each time. Maybe you could split your stay next time with AKL and another resort? That way you can try somewhere new but still return to your favorite.

If you are staying 2 weeks why not stay the first week somewhere else you have always wanted to try and end the vacation with somewhere you know you will love?

I haven't yet split a stay but from what I have read and friends have told me they make it very easy and even transfer your luggage for you.

Perhaps do something in the Epcot area say bc/yc or bw or something on the monorial line the first week with easy access to the parks. This way the 2nd week can be more relaxing if you like.

Our problem when staying at AKL is that we don't want to leave!!

33 days till I have that problem!

I would think that splitting your stay might be the route to go staying at AKL at the end. The pool area and slides at the BC/YC are really appealing to older kids plus you have the activity at the Boardwalk in the evening time. The only drawback, for us, is the lack of a "food court" environment at the BC in the AMs. Waiting in line at Beaches and Cream isn't appealing...but the pool bar is nice during the day. The rooms at the BC/YC are bigger than the AKL so that might be a nice change for you...and if you get the view of the lagoon area there is lots of activity to sit and watch.

We have done split stays and it is very easy. They transfer your luggage for you and everything. We check call bell services to pick up our luggage, and then check out of the resort ... spend time in the park and go back and check in at our new resort mid afternoon. The luggage arrives later afternoon ... but when we check in we call and ask bell services if it is there or not. If it is, they deliver it to the room. If not, you just call back in a bit and check with them. They will deliver the luggage right to the room. We've never had a problem with the transfer. Very easy. The only drawback is we tip when we they pick it up at the one resort and tip again when they deliver it to the room ... but for me, I don't mind ... afterall I appreciate someone else handling it for me so it is well worth it.
