AKL or POR with 2 little girls?

With your stay being for 8 days, how about 5 of those at AKL and 3 at POR. Your kids get to experience both places and with the money you save at POR, you could treat them to some other princessy things.

I am having a terrible time deciding which resort to stay at next March. This will be our daughters' first trip to WDW, they will be 6 and 3 during our stay. We can rent a studio standard view villa at AKL for cheaper than a royal room at POR. If they offer 20% off for POR they will be roughly the same price. Which would you recommend? Is AKL too sophisticated for their ages? Or does the excitement of the animals outweigh the royalness of the royal rooms at POR? (they both love princesses.)

We've never stayed at POR, but we loved AKL. If it were me, I'd go with AKL. AKL is a beautiful resort and it's great watching the animals roam around the savannas. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose :wizard:.

No. Club level at Jambo. Maybe someone else can weigh in on this and answer for sure?? We were definitely told we could go to Kidani and use the pool and water play area. However, I have noticed that sometimes CMs can be mistaken.

Initially it was key card access like BLT, which meant you had to be staying at Kidani. However the key card access was removed several years ago, so apparently they have made it resort accessible. I was still under the impression that each pool was building specific and when we've stayed at Kidani were not permitted to use the pool at Jambo. Right up to this past February!

I would do POR first. It will be hard to leave a room with a savannah view for a room with no balcony at all. Don't want the girls thinking when they throw back the curtains, they are going to see something cool and there be nothing!

We were told on our last trip (June 2012) that we could swim at Kidani even though we stayed at Jambo House. We never took the opportunity to do so, but were told we could. I read here from multiple people that AKL Jambo house and Kidani Village are considered sister resorts, so you can share. You can also do the same at POR and POFQ.

We have done both, and I would definitely choose AKL. If you plan to use the pools a lot, I would suggest Kidani Villas. The water play area is great for the little ones. If being close to quick service is more important Jambo may be the way to go. You cannot really go wrong with either as there is easy access to both buildings via a very efficient shuttle van that runs constantly between the two. You can absolutely use both pools. In fact, we were encouraged to do so.

We have stayed in the royal rooms as well as Savannah view at AKL, but IMHO, kids are happy wherever they are. My girls loved both experiences but really enjoyed the Royal Rooms even though they are huge animal lovers. I was glad we stayed there before they were older and some of the magic regarding princesses had dissipated.

Thanks so much for the input. It really is a tough decision. We may go POR RGR in hopes of FD coming up.
