AKL or Boardwalk Inn?

I need to know which hotel is better for a family of 4. My mother just changed her mind and decided to pay for the entire hotel room. Now we could stay in Disney!!!!! To be reasonable, I choose either the AKL or boardwalk Inn using the CKO code. I need to make these ressies as soon as possible! Can someone help!!? Thanks you! (These would have to be standard rooms)

I have stayed at both, I loved the AKL EXCEPT the rooms are to dark for me. it is great seeing animals morning noon and nighand the loccation isnt the best but if you have a car it is OK.

BWI, there is no food court, the pool isn't as good as AKL but the walk to epcot is great and the boatride to MGM is relaxing..
why dont you think about YC, a great hotel, the pool is the best on Disney property. I a m not sure if they have a food court cause I didn't look for one but that is my favorite hotel

If you are Epcot fans, and like to be closer to the action (there's nightclubs there, etc.), then Boardwalk. If you are looking for something different, want to spend some "down time" in the resort, soak up ambiance, then AKL.

It's hard to suggest one over the other without knowing the likes and dislikes, and the dynamics of your family of four. Choosing a resort has a lot to do with individual tastes and preferences.

Neither is better or worse for a family of four, but as different as the many families of four that stay in them! Have a great time - ON SITE!! Read up a little bit more on them, and then decide what sounds best for you! Have a great time!

BWI! We just returned from a stay at both. Our kids are 10 and 12 and BWI wins hands down. The AKL is a lovely hotel but the rooms are smaller than BWI. The ambience of the hotel is great but you are very isolated there.

The BWI is a much better location - so much going on around the boardwalk, the pool is excellent and never over-crowded. Being able to walk or catch the boat to MGM adn Epcot is a big plus

Thanks everyone for your replies. My mind has been made up for me. Just called CRO and the BWI is booked using every code available. The AKL sounds wonderful though. Do you think the BWI will suddenly have any vacancies between now and the first week of November?
