AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

How late are the fire pits burning? We have 5:30 reservations at Sanaa but wanted to stop by afterwards?

our dates changed by just a day.. no biggie! We are staying in a standard studio 17th-25th ;) Can't wait!

We're going to the World in October, and we're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House. Savannah view room. Our 4th time. WOOOOO! (My little guy is going to POP with excitement when I finally get to spill the beans!)

We had a fairly pathetic view on the Zebra trail our first visit (and had no idea how bad it was until we went back and had much, much better views). Our other 3 trips have all seen us staying on the Sunset Savannah. We've been happy enough with that to bring us back, time and again!

So my question is, does anyone have a recommendation for a room/section request for AKL-Jambo savannah view? For those who've been there, done that, is it worth the upcharge to have the Arusha savannah view?

I hope I'm asking in the right place!

Thanks! :)

ACk I am so excited to find this thread! I am taking my first ever trip to WDW in late january and my friend has a Disney timeshare and has booked us in a Savannah view studio at Kidani Village!

I can't wait to finally experience WDW and the AKL Kidani looks amazing!

Glad to be following this thread!!

Hi all. We are staying at Kidani next May and someone told me all the coffee pots had been replaced with Keurig's. Can someone verify this as truth or not? Thank you.

We stayed at Kidani this past January in a 1 BR suite. We still had the regular coffee pot, no keurig. I brought my nespresso machine since, even with decent coffee, those Mr. Coffee pots make a lousy pot. If coffee is important, I wouldn't rely on the rooms having newer machines.

We are headed back to AKL September 18-21; 14 days! First time staying Club Level here. Any advice is welcome!

Also, I was fortunate enough to secure AKV-Jambo House CL for a stay next year, July 20-26.

So looking forward to returning "home". We have stayed at multiple resorts at Disney, but our hearts belong to Jambo House!

Yeah, the DVC rooms (even if you're staying cash, so this would include all of Kidani) have old school mr coffee drip coffee pots, 12-cup basket filter for 1 and 2 BRs, studios might be smaller, not sure. Agree the pots make the coffee very bitter, maybe from over use or scaling? We brought some flavored coffee grind of our own and it wasn't completely terrible. :thumbsup2

The regular resort rooms (Jambo non-villas) use pods, not Keurig k-cups.

Thank you. That is what we had last time in 2011 and the coffee tasted not so good.

I was just saying I'm going in 14 days! Just a quick trip for MNSSHP! Sorry for the confusion!

Add me to the September list. I'm staying in a Jambo house studio for a solo trip Sept. 16-25

We paid for an Arusha view in 2010 and we loved it so much that we're doing it again next week. To us it is well worth it.

There were animals all the time with the exception of when they went to the feeding barns. Only about an hour of time in the AM & PM.

Our dates changed - we just returned. Our trip was fabulous, other than a minor hiccup - the room we checked into initially was so stinky gross (emesis) that even after cleaning and airing out, we couldn't stay there. So we were upgraded to club level b/c there were no other 1 bdrms available.

Club level was awesome and now DH wants it every time! Sad part, was we lost our savannah view - but since we were on the 1st floor - pool level - we could somewhat see animals from our room.

And, the best part of our trip? I got to try a zebra dome! They had gluten-free zebra domes for us and they were spectacular!
