Some general info regarding the MBs: I spoke to a CM today and explained that I wanted to use the 3-day PH passes that we have and not use the 2-day base tix that we bought with our Deluxe Dining Plan. She explained to me that the 1st ones associated with our bands will automatically be activated first. So, I will have to use the 3-day ones as paper ones, or I can just transfer them onto different bands....and, as long as we don't use our original MBs to enter a park they will be valid passes....

Magic bands are associated with your MDE account. Doesn't matter which band u use. I believe if you have your tickets active in your MDE account to make fast pass selections etc it won't matter which band you use. I have 7 bands now & any one of them uses my APs that are active through the MDE account. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but that's how things have worked for us.

....the CM told me to go to Guest Services when we get to AKL and we can get a separate band just for our 3-day PH passes. As long as we don't link them on our ressies on MyDisneyExperience, we will be good....

.....plus, I'm thinking that AP's are a totally different animal....

Tip of the Day:

Always check your flights for any changes.

....I got an email stating that my return flight was canceled so they [United] put me on an earlier one [only by around 12 minutes] so I called them directly [I originally booked through Expedia] to see if we could be put on a later one, which would work better for us. We are now leaving at 11:16AM instead of 8:04AM....I guess this is the part where I make ADR's for Boma for a buffet breakfast! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Hope you are planning a really early breakfast! They will probably want you on the 8:00 AM +/- MDE!!! :scared:

....I figured that, but it's still better than getting up at 4AM and heading to MCO by 5AM!

I'm sure this has been answered, but I can't seem to find it. Does everyone staying at AKL have access to both pools, or only the Uzima Pool? I'm assuming I already know the answer, but I just want to double check!

TIA!

Im 98% sure you can utilize both pools. I've heard in a few other posts that on really busy days, that they have the possibility to turn you down if staying at one and it's crowded. Don't know if this is true though..:confused3

Does anyone know if there is a way to request room with a king bed? i just booked a pool view room and will be staying with my DH, DS15, DS10. I'm 5 ft 10, DH is 6 ft 5and my older DS is 6 ft 3. I am thinking we would be best off with a king / daybed configuration. My younger son would be fine with either a rollaway or sleeping bag on the floor. Online check in is only giving me options about room location. Is this something we ask about when we show up or is there a way to request it in advance?

I was under the impression that rooms with king beds are a bookable category.. which means you have to pay for the option. either that or they are only in the larger suites in one of the bedrooms.

You can indeed enjoy both pools. We always spend a day over at Kidani lounging by the pool when we are staying at Jambo House. Variety is the spice of life...:) Enjoy.

Is it much of a hassle to head over to Kidani? We have 1 day that is saved just to be at the resort and have been trying to decide between the 2 pools........we are booked at Jambo and I have 2 boys, ages 10 & 11. We also have dinner reservations for Sanaa at 5:30 on our resort day. Was thinking to do Kidani pool earlier in the day and perhaps the Jambo pool after dinner. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It's not terrible but it is maybe a 10 minute walk. Or you could take a bus. Why don't you do Jambo's pool during the day and Kidani's after dinner since Sanaa is at Kidani? That might make it easier to get ready for dinner since you won't have to go out of your way if you want to get ready for dinner in your room. I believe there are showers and hair dryers at the pools if you wanted to get ready at the pool prior to dinner too. That could also be an option. Then it wouldn't matter which pool you're at and you won't have to walk a long way at night when you're tired.
