Yes! I saved almost 50% off rack rate by booking through Orbitz for AKL. Almost 20% off the summer rate. But I booked it back at the end of March when the Summer rate came out and Orbitz had a 20% off promo code!

...didn't work out that way for me...for the price of a std AKL room with a two-day pass for both of us came out to a little MORE than thru WDW....AND we got the dining!

I just booked AKL for 9/21-9/28. It will be DH and myself for an early anniversary celebration and birthday trip for him. I used the military salute discount and got a standard CL room for our stay. We've stayed CL at the WL and loved it. We stayed here waaaay back in 2001 in a regular savannah room, not CL, so we're really looking forward to this little treat!

I called about the Sunrise Safari, but there's no availability for the one day when we can do it. Still, they took our info and said they'd see what could be done, so fingers crossed!

I've been reading through this thread but haven't gotten too far yet. Can anyone tell me, do "standard" CL rooms have a savannah view? I thought standard and savannah views were different, even at CL. Doesn't matter, though. I'm just happy to be going at a great rate!

All Non-DVC CL rooms are Arusha Savannah

The disboards of course! Honestly I would never have known otherwise and this year I get to stay at AKL because of the amazing deal that Orbitz had going back in March. Thanks to all of you guys on the board that have helped me with planning my vacation! I just need those Magic Bands to show up! (and yes....I did make sure to change my shipping address so that the Bands come to me and not to Orbitz! LOL).

Off line for a few days. Trying to catch up. Tell me if I'm crazy: after a debacle with my sister, I had to cancel our WL rooms. I rebooked at the Poly. However, I was concerned about construction, so I also booked at the Dolphin now I'm missing AKL. Would it be insane to switch to AKL CL? My mom said the other day how wonderful they are there. Help!!

While they wouldn't be the customized color ones with a name if all else fails you can get generic gray ones at the Resort upon check in. So you won't have to go bandless

The teens and I stayed Arusha view on May 28, 29 and 30th. We had a great time. It was the end of our trip when we spend more time at the resort than in the parks.

Opening those curtains every morning to seeing the animals was wonderful. DD14 loves giraffes and zebras so she got to watch them all she wanted.

The teens also loved the arcade and I enjoyed the pool. Now to figure out how long I need to save to be able to have that view again.........

We are going in September and are super excited to have bunk beds with a Savannah view.

Do you feel like there is enough storage in the rooms?

Mind sharing your room location? I'm still torn on if I want to request Kudu or Zebra trail.

....seems like a no-brainer to me......but I AM kinda partial to AKL....
