Hi there! This is my first time joining this group and I am so excited as I have finally secured a 1 bedroom Villa (Value priced) for my trip in November This will be my first trip to AKL/AKV, but somewhere in the area of trip 16/17 to WDW. I'm going back in an attempt to kind of catch up, I am super excited to be going as I have always wanted to stay at AKL!

T-1 Week until our first DVC stay at Kidani! Woo hoo!

Part of our plan for chosing Kidani over Jambo house was that we were going to rent a car, since we like eating at signatures and other resort restaurants every night (besides Boma and Jiko, obviously), and we thought the convenient Kidani parking would be helpful. But now the rental car rates are way higher than other times of the year (damm spring break!) It'll be cheaper for us to just cab it to the restaurants. Oh well. It'll still be good to give Kidani a try for comparison (we loved our cash stay at Jambo last year), and the extra bathroom in the 1BR will be REALLY nice!

Hi everyone,

What a great thread! I just booked AKL Jambo House for 3 nights. August7th to August 10th. I booked a pool view thought it would be nice. We are so excited.

We have stayed at CSR and POR and have had to walk about 10 minutes to get to the pool from our rooms. Is walking to Kidani pool kind of the same thing from Jambo? I know my DD will like the slide better there. Also, is there a hot tub at Kidani?

I will be there Nov 11-16, 2014 Jambo 1 bedroom Villa!!!

Hi! I introduced myself a couple of weeks back. I am currently booked 3 nights in a AKV Jambo standard studio as the last part of a split stay. Prior to this I'm at BWV for 3 nights and VWL for 2; both also studios. I was able to use SW points for my entire airfare (yeah!), so now have some wiggle room in my budget. I'm contemplating contacting the DVC member I rented points from and seeing if he has enough points for me to upgrade to a 1 BR Standard in Jambo. He has a lot of points, so he might be able to do this request. The difference should be about $500. The group is me, DH, DD17 and DS14. Wondering if anyone who has stayed in either can recommend. Or would I be better using that for some more TS meals or tours or something? We're not on any dining plan and won't have TIW. Out current dining is breakfasts in the room and the rest mostly QS meals, with the exception of ADRs for Via Napoli and Boma. We like doing things and don't spend a ton of time in the room..

Im not sure of the sleeping arrangements but i think u already answered your own question...save the cash for other things. ..Its only a place to lay your hesd after a day at the resort or parks....This is what I'd do....Good luck whichever route u go.
