Hello all, Hey Brandi please do me a favor, because my sis is gonna go cuckoo... Like she's not there already... If you can just change the location of our Feb. trip....We're still going the same time but staying at GCV...... I'm kinda thinking of AKV in late Oct-Nov. Will keep you posted on that...Thanks.

Hi - we are first time Disney and AKL visitors. We have reservations for Jan 17-25 Savannah view. Any suggestions on any requests we should make regarding rooms? My 8 year old is very excited to see the animals from our room but my 70+ mother will also be with us so I don't want to add a lot of extra walking. Thanks!

Popping in to say HELLO!! We are joining in on November 29th to December 4th and then *hopefully* moving over to the Poly for our last 2 nights. We are 2nd time AKL guests and LOVE the resort!! This year we are going to be staying at Kidani and cannot wait!!! Glad to be apart of the group!

This is so true. That rich woodsmoke smell, the textures of the furnishings, flooring, and artwork,, the light filtering through the darker areas, the faint sound of a happy little drummer. <3 <3

Would you be able to tell me about the hot apps offered in CL at AKL? It looks like you have been before.

I have asked before and not gotten an answer and I keep waffling between AKL CL and GF CL (where we are currently booked). Can you shed some light on the food offerings? Thanks!

Good question, we are headed to AKV CL end of March and I am curious myself.

Sure! When we were there in Sept from what I remember they had two hot apps per night along with a cold app or two, and a selection of really good cheeses (the Manchego was TDF) and crackers, veggies, and dips (i.e. hummus, olive spread, etc.). I thought the hot apps were good. One night I remember some kind of shrimp spoon, another was a spiced turkey meatball with roasted peppers, another was tofu with almonds and spicy mustard, another was a really yummy mushroom thing on a crostini. I wish I could explain them better, but I don't remember the specifics. I just remember them being small but very pretty (tasty sauces drizzled over them). Not enough for a meal but, along with a glass of wine, a nice starter to your real meal.

Breakfasts were functional but pretty boring after 9 days (oatmeal, quinoa, cereals, breads, pastries, fruit (loved the fresh nectarines!), etc.).

The mid-afternoons breaks were so-so. Veggies, cheeses, munchies, and then a cute area for the kids with PB&J sandwiches, gummy bears, goldfish.

The late night dessert offerings were yummy. Cordials, and I think two desserts per night (i.e. zebra domes, brownies, mousse, etc.).

And the view of the lobby can't be beat! Overall, we have really enjoyed the CL experience at AKL each time we have done it.
