Just got back from our split stay and 5 nights at AKV. We were in room 7516 in a 1BR Savannah view room. The room was beautiful and we absolutely loved the resort. The only bad thing is that we are officially ruined! I don't see many value stays in our future (sorry budget!) DD3 was crazy about the waterslide and the pool, we went to the pool every single day. My family also loved the 'drum cafe' (DH is a drummer and DD just loves to make noise). What an amazing resort, we were talking about how we'd love to go back and skip the parks entirely. Now I need to set a date and start saving

We checked into AKL last night, and we're in a pool view room on Giraffe Trail. Here's our view:

We also saw zebras and an ostrich from a lookout point last night!

Got home last night. Neil Patrick Harris was staying in AKL!! Also, our local radio station was there and broadcasting from MK this morning.

Had room 4462 and it was great! close to Mara elevator and nice pool view.

Returned from our wonderful stay sept 30th and decided to go again ago AKL.. Hooked now on this resort! Can't wait until sept 17, 2014!

RacelTori- LOVE the Christmas tree picture! The AK tree is my favorite park tree, and the AKL one is very similar- so beautiful. Thanks for posting. The zebras are adorable too. I think those must be the same ones we kept seeing.

I'm back & sadly didn't get to meet up with Laura. Sometimes when you're down there things just don't go as planned!

Kidani & Jambo were gorgeous as always. Bus service was good. We had a 5th floor 1BR at Kidani right off the elevator so very close to the lobby which was what I requested. Had breakfast twice at Boma, with our favorite server there, Theresa! Best...breakfast...ever!

My only wish was that they didn't close the pool & hot tub promptly at 11pm. I'm not sure if they're doing this at all resorts now (I thought I read that they were). We like to close the park & then head over for a soak in the hot tub, sometimes at 1 or 2am. Something we'll just have to get used to & plan according for from now on.

Magic Bands worked fine & were very easy to use. I went into this trip thinking I'd dislike them, but surprisingly I think they were great.
