I am staying at Kidani for the first time in Nov. We have a Savanna View. I hate taking elevators what location/floor should I request????

You would want second floor, close to lobby.

....actually, the lobby is on the third floor...request that, Giraffe Trail...

Like you, we have dreamed of an AKL stay for a long time - pretty much since it opened, really! We also get to finally go, and will be there just ahead of you at the very start of Aug (and very end of July).

We are pool view too - have you seen the view from some of these rooms?! WOW! - but for us it was a $$ thing. Maybe we'll get some pixie dust and be upgraded, but we are happy just to be there.

I totally know your anticipation. I am so giddy and my brain is so tuned to Disney at this moment. Have a wonderful time at AKL and we will soon follow you. Time doesn't go fast enough for me. I can't believe we still 90 some days left on our trip.

LMO429 is staying at Kidani, not Jambo. psac was correct in stating the lobby is on the 2nd floor.

On our last trip we shared with Art of Animation and Pop Century, Jambo was third and Kidani last. AKL might also physically be the furthest resort on property from MCO, so you might have to factor in an extra 10 or 15 minutes just in drive time. Like you said, I think the biggest question will be how close to 8:45 you actually get off the plane. You might not actually get to the DME until 9:15, which would make 10 impossible. If your plane gets in early you might be lucky!

I hope that we will land early and that I'll make it to the lounge by 10:30am for some breakfast treats! After our early morning flight I'm sure we will need a snack by then!

We are planning to swim for a while until our room is ready - is there a place to get changed for the pool?

So I should request a room on the 2nd floor then since I do not want to take an eleavator.

Are you able to use the staircases at this hotel (I know at the beach and yacht club you are able to)

Also where is the first floor of Kidani??? If the lobby is on the second floor??

Yes, even the Value's have a bathroom near the pool for changing, etc. It's very common for folks to use the pool, etc, till their rooms are ready.

....there is a staircase on the opposite side of the lobby. If you go down those, it will take you to Sanaa and the Sanaa Lounge...

Has anyone had experience with trying to change a (long-ago-made) reservation from 4 to 5? Sanaa is now showing no availability until very late, but we'd like a friend to join us for our 5:30pm dinner. Do you think they really won't be able to accommodate us?

If I'm understanding this correctly, you want to know if you can find out your room number before you even arrive to check-in? Your room isn't assigned until several days before check-in -- and is often "subject to change".

They won't give you your room number until the room is declared "ready" by Housekeeping.
