AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

Hi,
Has anyone had experience with trying to change a (long-ago-made) reservation from 4 to 5? Sanaa is now showing no availability until very late, but we'd like a friend to join us for our 5:30pm dinner. Do you think they really won't be able to accommodate us? :crowded::confused3

That is a hard one. Going from 3 to 4, probably not so hard. Most tables that can seat 3 could seat 4. But from 4 to 5, hard. There aren't that many 5+ top tables. Doesn't mean impossible but it is going to be tough. Call often.

How easy/hard is it to get to Kidani from Jambo? We'll be there in 10 days and I Think the kids will like the Kidani pool area better.

We will have a car if that maks a difference.

We'll be staying at AKL in nov, but just a standard view. We're nervous about spending the extra for a deluxe, so standard deluxe was as far as I could go. Hope we will still like it.

What!!!!. What c happened to ASMu, or CSR, ?...lol now you'll be there too. But you'll be in Jambo, we are over@ Kidani...No biggie..

I wouldn't drive.... try n catch a DTD bus (which stops@ Jambo 1st) and take it there. Then once there , take any other park bus back to Jambo... Depending if you time it right it can be relatively quick. Its also a nice leisurely stroll along the path. Maybe 7-8 minutes. I've heard there's also a shuttle that can tale you to n from, which I've personally not seen...either way, both pools are very nice with plenty of games and activities for the kids to do.

Enjoy n have fun... DizDad

Thanks! I don't mind walking but my parents will be with us. My dad usually has an ECV but won't until we check out and into our Bonnet Creek condo the next day.

We were at the end of Kidani that was closest to Jambo and it was less than a five minute walk. We had a few minute walk from our room to the lobby area. It would be close to 10 minutes from lobby to lobby.

We have used the shuttle van in the past. Easy trip both directions! (My husband does like to use the ECV for the trip too.)

We used the shuttle a few times in 2011, and I saw it driving around a fair bit. It was just a big van. The walk really isn't bad though so a lot of the time we would just walk.

That's good to know. We'll be staying at Kidani this time, and I'm sure we'll be visiting Jambo for dinner or the Mara or the pool (here n there.) I'll have to keep my eye out for them thanks.:thumbsup2

What reason would one have to use the Kindani pool over the Jambo pool, if you were not staying in Kindani that is. Does it have something different?

The Kidani pool is probably a 1/2 or 1/3 of the size of Jambos, but has a much longer slide. It also has the pretty good size water play area which is nice for the kids. Sorta like something you'd see at water park. Both have a poolside bar/ snack area, and both have hot tubs. I guess it's just personal preference.

Thanks. Maybe we'll mosey on over there one of our days just to check it out.

Which side has the better pool for hanging out at with my daughter who is 8? Which side is better overall. We are going at the end of August. So think hot and worried about walking.

Whichever resort your staying at is the one I would choose then. If your concerned with walking. Both are equally awesome. Both have activities n poolside games in the as afternoons. Honestly you can't go wrong with either..... Some of the other resorts would kill for either of these and this place has 2 of them...

Enjoy.:thumbsup2

whoohoo free souvenirs!!!:joker:

The poly pool has ducks really early in the morning swimming in it. DH is a smoker :( and woke me up one morning to go take a look. There were 5 of them just swimming around. I took pics to show our kids... (who were sleeping with my mom in the room) they fought it was the funniest thing ever.

The reason I think my kids will like the Kidani pool better is because of the longer water slide and splash play area.

WL pool has ducks too. When we were there last year there was a family around the pool all the time. When we first got there the little ones couldn't even get out on their own. They doubled in size over our 10 days there. '

I've been other pics of the pool taken at other times and there were ducks then too. I think there must be some there all the time.
