AKL LITE II - We're #2, but we try harder....

I've already decided that I have to get one of the Star Wars Photos with DS in in... (I kinda feel bad-we've been going through the movies and he's seen the first 2 and the Clone Wars cartoon...he thinks Anakin is the coolest-what's he going to think when he finds out Anakin becomes Darth Vader...)

Both of my boys still think pre-Darth Vader Anakin is cool, even after seeing him transform in the third movie. Then it was a good time to discuss the choices we make in life and how bad choices can result in consequences ..etc (...as mom rambles on and on and they start yawning and rolling their eyes...). But I think they got the idea, that Anakin was basically a good person who let fear and anger get the best of him.

Anyway, here's the picture for anyone who is curious about what we are talking about. The kids think it is very cool! They take the picture in the gift shop at the end of the Star Tours ride. The price is not posted anywhere - you find out after you see it on the screen and the kids are all excited about it.

As much as I love AKL I think it is good to occasionally mix up resorts-when You've been together with the Disney love-it's good to shake things up a little to keep it fresh......just saying...

I agree with you too. I booked our Christmas trip this morning at POFQ, not AKL because the AP rate of $124 was just too good to pass up. The money we save on the two rooms for 8 nights will pay for Christmas Eve dinner at Victoria & Albert's! I am all for mixing it up for a very good reason.

See -- I tried to tell my DH that and stay at PO-R or Pop. I told him that would mean we could eat and drink to our heart's content and I could do more shopping. He was reluctant, so we're "stuck" at AKL.

"...we should buy 4 of those Yankees seats (they're from the old Yankee Stadium, and, I am a big Yankees fan...) and put them in our basement..." to which I replied, " oh yeah, spend close to a thousand dollars on a bunch of chairs, but, God forbid, we go on vacation!".....not missing a beat, he retorts, " you go on vacation, which is a waste, because it only lasts a WEEK, but you'll always have these cool seats, which last forever!"....UGH!!! ...how do you reason with THAT warped logic??!!!?!?

You can't reason with that! I wouldn't even try. But what I would do (and have done in the past) is tell him to get the seats and you are going to book a trip to WDW. He can come with you if he wants to or you can go alone. I have done that and it was wonderful when he tagged along and equally terrific when I went alone!

Ugh. There's no reasoning with the diehard baseball fan, that's for sure. It's all about priorities, which was the topic of the argument DH and I got into about going to WDW this year. Unfortunately his priorities make a lot of sense (like painting the house and paying off the balance on the credit card).

You can't reason with that! I wouldn't even try. But what I would do (and have done in the past) is tell him to get the seats and you are going to book a trip to WDW. He can come with you if he wants to or you can go alone. I have done that and it was wonderful when he tagged along and equally terrific when I went alone!

Now that idea, I like!
