What great shots! Where did you take the shot of Mickey and Pluto fishing??

It is going into Camp Mickey Minnie at AK. Here's the view on the other side of the bank:

And then, from an earlier trip -- these guys are not too far away (sorry it's so small):

I don't understand how they can put those on ebay. :confused3 I would LOVE to get them (and any other dream being handed out, lol!). I did get a Dream Fastpass on my solo trip in 07, but it was on the last day of my trip and I didn't get to use them. I kept it though (guess I should have given it to someone to use, but I really wanted it!). :cloud9:

I adjusted my siggy today. It looks so pretty with those little "AKV" letters. :cloud9: It will look even prettier when we nail down our Decmeber 2009 dates with another ticker! :woohoo:

....that photo in your siggie is hi-LAR-ious!

I'm just trying to get caught up on this thread. We came home from WDW with head colds . I guess we were lucky that we didn't get the stomach bug that was going around. Had trouble with our computer for the past few days. As soon as I get my pics on photobucket, I'll post some from AKL.

ELIN - So sorry about Bob's mother. My prayers are with your family.

BROOK - Hope your grandmother is doing well.

MICKEY'S DREAMERS - I hope everything goes well with your mother's surgery.

I know it's late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends here!

My DH and I spent the first five nights (Dec. 9-14) of our vacation at the Poly (lagoon view, club level). The Poly is a great resort. Our room was on the third floor with a beautiful view of the castle, GF and Contemporary.

We transferred over to the AKL on Sunday, Dec. 14. Our room was on the 4th floor (club level), Arusha Savanna, Zebra Trail. It was the first room in the second section. Since it was an end room, it had an extra bureau near the entrance. I prefer a room further out on the trail. Our main view was Arusha Rock and the tops of trees. I was disappointed that we didn't see as many animals on the savanna as we did on previous trips. We found out from the guide on the Sunrise Safari that there are only two giraffes on the Arusha Savanna now and they usually stay close to the fence where most of the giraffes are on the Uzima Savanna.

I loved doing the Sunrise Safari again. The buffet breakfast was great, especially the banana stuffed french toast (so much better than Tonga Toast).

We had a disappointing dinner at Jiko, which was our favorite WDW restaurant until now. I got sick our last night and had to cancel our Boma dinner. We did have two great Boma breakfasts.

I'll try to post pictures soon.

KATHY-- Both my girls came home from WDW with head colds that proceeded to sink into their chests. Sorry it got your family too! We were also thankful that we didn't get the stomach bug!

Thanks for your kind words about Bob's Mom.

Wow, two for two! We had a disappointing dinner at Jiko too. When were you there and what were your problems?

Well, we had dinner at Jiko one night during our 12/18-24 trip, and we loved it. DH and DS1 had the Tast of Africa appetizer each, and I had the Kalamata Olive Flatbread. DS2 had . . . chicken nuggest and FF from Boma, lol! We all loved our food. I had a great glass of wine -- can't for the life of me remember what it was - red -- but it was very good.

Our server was nice. I guess it depends on who you get. We want to return to Jiko next time. We dont' do big dinners, so mabye that was the difference.

Alaska:) By way of Seattle:) SOmeone else here has the same ticker I think...:rolleyes1

I know, I promised DH once we had DVC, no other vacations.....:teacher: , oh well:) Its for his 50th:) And I'm sticking to that!:thumbsup2
We have only cruised once on DCL for 3 nights....I am not a 3 night cruiser as my family want to leave me on CC..lol...you cannot do everything, and I thought I could! (CC ..Castaway Cay, Disneys private island)
So now 7 nights.....I can relax...not worry abt characters..lol...well you never know who might be on this cruise:rotfl2:

So excited for your NEXT trip! WOW...!!!!So happy for you brookelizabeth!

:rotfl: Sounds like a WONDERFUL 50th birthday gift/party!

So what are you exact dates for the Dec. trip? I think I missed it along the way.

I want to try and get a trip in this year now that they came out with the military promotion...I am hoping bribing DH with AKL will do the trick. I will keep ya posted.

I don't think I actually posted them anywhere - maybe on the TR? I can't recall off hand...but, they are December 8-15 (tues-tues). It includes the land portion of Mousefest and the current scheduled December 12th shuttle launch.

Brook - I am glad you all have firmed up your plans for your December trip!

And, Diana - with the people I know taking that cruise I know there will be a couple of characters found on board. ;)

:rotfl2: OOOOOH, good one!!!!!! :thumbsup2 ;) :goodvibes

The goofy one of Henry and I on SE? They didn't capture DH's face AT ALL and I was holding Henry. Kinda silly, but we laughed so hard at how it came out!

...is that 'Wally World" ????

John's Mom - so sorry to hear about the head cold. :sad2: Thank you for thinking of my Grandma. She is doing pretty well - things still aren't great, but it's getting easier because of time.

That is a shame too about Jiko! I wonder what is going on there?!

GREAT pictures wickey's friend, thank you for sharing!!!!

...so do I....

I know. Especially you, who was so painfullly denied a trip for the holidays! A lot of the parks still have Christmas stuff up. It's slowly coming down :sad2:

We saw two amazing weddings while at the Grand Floridian over the weekend. They both had the "royal onion" right in front of the entrance between the GF and the pool. The bride and groom and their entourage had a videographer and a photog following them up and down the beach. It was beautiful. The groom, Indian, was knock out handsome. His mother was dressed in a very fancy, traditional silk Indian sare (spelling?). The other wedding actually employed the use of one of the giant ferries (the ones that transport you from the TTC to MK) as part of their ceremony. This fairy was actually docked behind the wedding chapel...could not figure that one out, but I guess if you have the money, Disney will make it happen!

I also thought of you, Kimmar, while we were valet parking to go into Jiko for dinner. A concierge GMC Yukon pulled up (driver with the red, plaid vest) got out. A very tall, black man with a NYY hat on, carrying a small child got out with some other people. It was none other than ... Plaxico Burress! Kinda neat, hey? I had this funny thing run through my mind:

"Plaxico Burress, you just shot yourself in the leg...what are you going to do now? I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD"!!! (sorry, couldn't help myself!):woohoo:
