Kim, I am so sorry. I totally misunderstood your HUSBAND comment! CJsMom has the same problem! What's the deal with these Non-Disney husbands?! Bad hubbies, bad hubbies.

....he's not one for taking a vacation - PERIOD! The only time when he is even 'mildly' [and I use the term loosely!] excited is when he is going upstate [NY] to our property...even THEN, it's 'last-minute Charlie'.....:confused3

that makes it very sad for you then, kimmar... I am sorry

Yes, he is a sport! I can attest to that!

I guess I am blessed. When you meet your other half AT Disney, you have nothing to worry about!:cloud9:

Next time I am in the market for a better half I will look only at Disney! ;) :rotfl2:

Let's see..so much to comment on today:) ;)

I was going to make an off color comment after I read kimmar's statement of being deprived of p & a pleasure......it was funny though:lmao: Deprive..pleasure..different initials...kimmar's poor DH:(
All kidding aside..my DH doesnt even want to discuss anything WDW at this point...so I plan quietly...lol He doesnt even want to go next year...fine, I have kids that will want to go :) lol Maybe a ladies trip to WDW might be in store for you?? Nothing against your DH of course:) My last 2 trips were without mine!!

Welcome!
Have you ever stayed at AKL? If not, you are gonna LOVE it!! :woohoo:

Sorry -- I got sidetracked for a few days. LOL!

Yes, we have stayed there before. WL used to be my favorite (still love it), but AKL has taken over the number one spot! It is just awesomely jaw-dropping to get to stay there. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!

I just went back to try to catch up on all the posts -- thanks to all who post pictures! And thanks, Kimmar for the welcome earlier! Sorry about your DH's view on WDW and planning. I'm lucky in that my DH is a hard core WDW fan. He just sent me the link to a web site where you can track flights -- with the flight we take to Orlando filled in so I can watch it as it gets there today. How bad are we?

Sounds like my father was. He died at 72 cuz he didn't know how to relax! Gosh, don't tell your hubby that!!! :scared1: That was probably way too politically incorrect, but I know you of all people can handle it! (my dad had enough sense to take a break and bring me to the Magic Kingdom back in 1971!!!)

Well, your DH must really like what he does...:confused3

You won't ever want to leave! Like Hotel California in a really good way! :thumbsup2

Woo hoo, by the way, I bought my very first bottle of PROSECCO for home use tomorrow night!!! Woo hoo! :cool1:

Oh, yes, "Joe the Construction Worker"!

I do software support too! Software for auditing and risk management. I love my job!

I love my job too! I wasn't sure if I'd go back to it after being home with the kiddos - they weren't big on part-time work back in 2000, on of the big reasons why I left - but they seem to have jumped on the "work/family balance" bandwagon since then. They offered me a really flexible part-time schedule with great pay. No benefits, but that's the only downside.

Wow....nice to know I'm surrounded by fellow computer geeks!

I'm a computer guy, too. Application administration, design and development, database work and reporting, etc.

:)

Hi fellow geek! :wave2: :surfweb:

....you must understand, this is what he does ALL THE TIME!!! He deprives me of my pre-vaca pleasure [what I call the 'P & A' phase (planning & anticipation)...] there have been times where he'll be dragging his feet right up to the last day.....DRIVES ME NUTS! :headache: ....then, he lays the guilt on me that we only went to WDW in the first place because of ME....:guilty:

Ugh. :sad2:

Comment on the moderation...Phil, because of his GPS, cannot eat large portions of food. It'll make him physically sick. So, I always say he just eats the same junk, smaller portions. He and I disagree on that whole thing. I feel that doctors are making so much money off of that operation, why bother training anyone to eat properly. Just cut 'em open and take out 2/3 of the stomach. It's a horrible operation, with so many terrible side effects. But obese people just get so desperate. I just find that there is a huge lack of education as to re-teaching people how to eat. Portion control is the name of the game, surgery or no surgery. I agree.

You are so right - but the portion control IS the hardest part. Portion control + exercise, simple concept, but not easy to do! Especially with Halloween candy in the house. :guilty:

Is your DH related to my DH? :confused3 Maybe we should all go to WDW together - they can hang out in the room and b**ch about being there and you and I can hit the parks! :rotfl:

Yep. And spending the money, and leaving him with the kids...:headache:

Ah, pleast toast to me!! LOL What kind did you get???? I loved this one, right Laura?! :lmao:

Thanks for reminding me that I had planned to post this, brookelizabeth! I weighed myself the morning that we left for WDW and the morning after we returned. I had gained about 3.5 pounds in the 6 days of gorging and guzzling that we did. I am happy to report that I have taken those pounds off plus an additional pound. Now I need to really work on taking off more before the holidays get here. That is one reason WW has been looking good to me.

I also like pilferk's plan of eating what I like but in much moderated portions. I have to contemplate how I can do that, and am thinking possibly about purchasing a small bowl and plate where the smaller portions would look a little more substantial. I think many times we simply fill our plates and don't think about how much we are actually putting on there.

3.5 pounds is not bad at all! I was fearing like a 10 pound gain. 3.5 is TOTALLY WORTH IT! :lmao: And congratulations on loosing it already, plus a pound!

That is a good idea about the plate, I try to use our smaller plates more often for this reason. I am very thankful I've learned moderated portions through WW, I never realized the sheer amount of food I ate before!

Wow....nice to know I'm surrounded by fellow computer geeks!

Geeks unite!!!

Oh man...that REALLY stinks. I think I recall a similar "dragging of the feet" ordeal on one of your recent trips, and it was suddenly at the last minute that he decided everyone was going. That would be very hard to deal with...and then the guilt trip on top of it all. Ugh. I suppose it's just easier for you to skip vacationing all together. :guilty: Are you going to keep the ressie at the WL for a while yet, just in case though?

YES I AM!!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I gotta go find Kim's Single Digit Dancing thread and see if it's still active so I can do my countdown!! I will be sure to shared lotssss of pics and stories when I get back. I can't wait to see my little guy's eyes light up. For the past few months, when he gets really excited he sucks a bunch of air in and makes a gasping noise, so I'm expecting quite a bit of that, considering he does it EVERY MORNING when we bring him to take a Mickey head off the countdown! :rotfl:

That is so great!!! I hope all the "catching up" certificates and such go smoothly for you. :goodvibes

I can't wait to see these pictures too. :goodvibes I miss that look of awe and wonder on little one's faces when we go to WDW. Although, my lovely offspring and devoted spouse say all I have to do is look in the mirror and I can see it all right there.

Take lots and lots of those pictures (for us and for yourself) to enjoy years from now!
