Darn - late again this year! But at least we know the plan now - thanks! :thumbsup2

Hey Guys,

I love this thread and I have read pages and pages of great info! My family is going to AKL and WDW in 4 weeks. This is a first trip for my DH 39, DS 6 and DS 2.5. I just upgraded to the CL(this is a surprise) and we have the Dining Plan. We have reservations for WC on the first night, Biergarten at Epcot and Boma one night. We only have 4 days in the parks, so i am just winging the rest of the dining. I am rambling ---

Basically I want to know if anyone has advice for a trip at AKL with younger kids. My 6 yr old is an animal nut and can't wait. I think we will have a hard time getting him out of the resort - which is fine if he is having fun. Any suggestions are welcome.

Oh - What about Jiko with little ones?

Thanks :)

Welcome and congrats on your upcoming vacation! I'll be there in less than 3 weeks -- can't wait!!

Yes, lots of activities for the little ones: crafts, storytellers, primal parade in the evening. And of course, many areas to view the animals. :cloud9: Perhaps your 6 y/o would be interested in doing the bead activities. He'll earn a bead at the completion of each activity! :)

Jiko - of course your kids can dine there, but I have a suggestion. Why not put them in the kids club for a couple of hours so you and your hubby can enjoy a wonderful meal! :hug:

;)

Thanks for the quick response. Can kids as young as my little guy(2.5) go to Simba's Club House?

Thanks Again!

I'm sorry but the Kids' Clubs are for ages 4-12 only.
You could have an in-room sitter from Kids Nite Out. There is a 4-hr. minimum charge but they are great. We have used them several times over the years.

This is for everyone, but especially for you PracPerfPatricia!! You all MUST read Lugnut33's trip report, but this post in particular. Besides the awesome Kidani pictures, he references "Jack"!!! ;)

Ah, heck. And I thought I'd been quoted. ;)

Oh -I wind up quoting everyone ;)-I learn so much here and then I pass it off as my own information ::rolleyes1:-even dh who busts on me for my DIS addiction is more than happy to benefit from all the great info I get here...( I'm still looking forward to using Flossbolna's comments on the width and depth of African cooking as my rational for booking Boma, Sanaa and Jiko...I'll be using those gems soon and sounding oh so smart...:cool2:-I also hope to be helpful and contribute my own little pearls of wisdom...:goodvibes

Everyone going soon-have a fabulous time...:thumbsup2

I WILL have you know that I strongly believe that my dog has special needs- and this is coming from someone who is an education advocate and champions all kinds of needs and I am TELLING you this dog is a LUNATIC but we love him so what can we do?...::scared: (They don't have IEP's for dogs do they?)....:confused3

I would be going nuts!! Will you be posting live by any chance??

Here's a Sanaa review with a couple of pictures:

and it seems Lugnut is striking up quite a friendship with "Jack" (from Allears)!!! :)

If you haven't found Lugnut33's trip report yet, you are missing some AWESOME Kidani pictures!!!!

:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

It's good to meet new people and you never know when and where you're going to meet them-Jack certainly seems to know his Disney stuff...:)

I've enjoyed the trip report so far but honestly I'm just picturing Jack getting brushed off by some type of leaves as a welcoming ceremony/gesture at the opening at Sanaa-as writtne by Lugnut- and I'm so thinking DH would not like that-he isn't a participatory kind of guy-he'd kill me if I set him up for something like that...hmmm....:rolleyes1

It really is a great report...pictures, etc..cool little Baobob tree gift....:goodvibes

I don't think Lugnut meant for it to come across that way at all. I'm pretty sure he felt honored and somewhat in awe of meeting up with Jack. :worship: (at least, that's the way I interpreted it! ;))

Does anyone know (or have a link to) the rotation of entrees at Boma?

We were just there for dinner and want to go back, but I'd like to pick a night where I will get to sample some different meats & soups.

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

I'm new to the board but *love* Disney World! :lovestruc We've never done a deluxe property before, but AKL has been at the top of our wishlist since it opened. With the Buy 4, Get 3 deal, we just had to go for it! :banana:My question is whether it's true that the pool at AKL is open 24 hours? Also, which of the offered activities are good for teens?

Hi Johnsonet!

I will be posting live next weekend. :thumbsup2

Hope you are doing well!

Just wanted to stop in and say
Happy Mother's Day:flower3::flower3:
to all our Jambo moms out there.
