AKL Kidani Village room suggestions

Just booked a dedicated 2 bedroom savanna view at the seven month window changing from my home resort at OKW. Never stayed at AKL Lodge before, anyone have any suggestions for room requests? We will have a car and will probably use a mix of disney transportation and driving depending on where we're going. Thanks for any help.

I prefer being on the lowest possible floor so that I am as close to the animals as possible. I also prefer the Sunset Savanna (vs the Pembe Savanna) because Pembe does not have giraffes or zebras. So my Kidani requests are usually Sunset Savanna, ground floor. When giving these requests to MS, they usually have to type in the ground floor request because their drop down list has "high floor" but not "low floor" as a request choice.

Some people request "close to lobby" because Kidani is such a big resort, the rooms at the end of the hallways are about a quarter of a mile from the lobby. I don't mind being away from the lobby, especially since there is lots of foot traffic going by the ground floor rooms so it's quieter the further you are from the lobby. But if you don't like long walks (possibly very long walks!) then you might consider adding "close to lobby" as a request.

They also have to write in "Sunset" as well because the majority of the savannah rooms are sunset. Pembe is much smaller.

Last May we requested Sunset and close to lobby. Got the first room off to the left of the lobby, a 2 bedroom. It was perfect! We prefer the right side. I think that's Timone and Pumba parking, but there's fewer covered spots. That's a bit closer to the bus stop and walking to Jambo, but further from the pool.

We always have a car with us and request "close to Jambo, low floor" We like being able to take a short walk over to Jambo House and being on a lower floor so we're closer to the animals. The only time we don't use our car is when we are going to Magic Kingdom. If we need to go to the lobby, we try to stop by when we are leaving or returning to the resort.

Pretty much everybody requests close to lobby. I like to request close to transportation, which is right next to lobby, and if you've booked a savanna view, will put you on Sunset versus Pembe. My second request is low floor. Essentially you get three requests for the price of two.
