AKL Jambo- what to request and laundry questions

Hi,

We are heading to AKL for the first time next week, staying in a resort studio. I've tried looking on touring plans, but don't see a standout of what to request for a room. Or should I just not worry about a room request and let whatever happens happen? Will that shoot me in the foot?

Also, we usually stay in larger rooms, so I haven't been faced with doing laundry at a DVC resort before. How does it work? Do I need change? Should I bring my own soap, or do they provide it (or sell it)? How much does it cost to do a load?

Is there anything else I should know about staying at AKL? Thanks!

I’d just let it ride on the room request.

Laundry is on the 5th floor, I believe, and it is complimentary. You need to provide detergent. At RIV I know they leave some detergent even in the studios, I don’t remember that anywhere else though.

Laundry room for AKV Jambo House is on the 5th Floor Kudo Trail. You will need either your MagicBand or KTTW to open the door. As the PP noted, laundry is free (even if machine has coin slots). You will either need to provide your own detergent (as PP noted, might be one in the studio upon arrival) or purchase from the machine in the laundry room.

If you call the front desk they will provide bottles of the Eco laundry detergent for free. You can also bring your own or buy boxes of detergent from the laundry room if you prefer.
