AKL construction?

We have stayed at the AKL in the past and really enjoyed the resort. We are considering staying their in June 08 but are concerned about the AKL Villa construction. Can anyone advise us if this will be a problem?

It was noisy for us. We were on the side of the savannah where our room faced the construction. We were woken up at 7am for 2 days with the beep-beep sound when the trucks back up along with other noises. We had originally wrote in to guest relations to ensure we would be placed in a room on the farthest side of the resort away from the construction. The CM that helped us totally ignored the notes on our reservation and put us right in front of it. I was livid:mad: and it was a rough 2 days trying to visit such a beautiful place with a 3 year old who hasn't had her full beauty rest.

We were in room 2257 http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/DAKLMap.pdf and all the odd number room in that section had the misfortune of dealing with the noise. Others didn't mind it and it was only bothersome to us because our 3 year old was woken up by it. She loves big trucks and stuff like that, so she was up very early trying to see everything that was going on.

We were on the side opposite of the construction, and we didn't hear a thing. We loved our stay at AKL!

We were just there last week in room 4214 and it was silent our whole stay. I would just request a room away from the construction and then if you get a room near it like the above poster did, ask to be switched.

2 weeks ago I was in 3241 on the Giraffe trail. Our room over looked the Sunset Savanna. We could see cranes in the distance, but that really didn't bother me all that much. We heard a little bit of noise from the construction, but not enough to fuss over.

We just got back and had a pool view room 1470. You couldn't see the pool because the bush was too high. We didn't hear the construction, and we stayed in the room until 10AM each day. We had a king bed with a accessible bathroom with tub and additional grab bars. The room was perfect for DH needs. We only paid for a standard view. We saw the crane above the construction.
Sunday and Monday it was so cold that the locals and CM's wore winter coats. We are from the NorthEast so we wore medium jackts and sweatshirts and I wore a stocking cap when the wind picked up. On Monday the windchill in the AM was 37 and the temp was 57. On Tuesday, the day we left, the daytime temp was going back up to the 80's.
Again, we did not hear the construction noise.
