AKL Construction Updates?

Anyone stay at the AKL recently and have a construction update? We are due to arrive in 4 weeks. Our requested room is 3rd floor, Zebra Trail, Arusha Savannah view. Anyone have any news on the construction noise, animals being moved/not being moved, etc, etc?

I just got back after 2 weeks, requested (and got) Zebra Trail 3rd floor and I didn't see or hear any construction, apart from curtains covering rooms on the upper floors in the lobby.

I rang AKL last night and was told that the work is ongoing between 09:00 and 18:00 (not 17:00 as quoted on allears.net) as they want to get it done as soon as possible. Apparently some folks are being moved to other resorts and I wanted to understand if this would affect us. The CM I spoke to told me about the change in working hours to which I replied "we have a 2 year old who likes to sleep in the afternoons" to which he said "they'll probably move you then". To be honest, it sounded more like he just wanted to get off the phone as most people have had no problems at all.

I guess the moral of the story is that if you get there and it's a problem - discuss it with reception! Whatever, please post back what you do find when you get there!

Why wait until you get there and then have to waste park time moving. Call now and ask to be moved. Be persisitent because all of us who have are pretty happy with the results. Our Poly trade for the AKL put a big smile on my face, could have even had GF but that's not our cup of tea. Don't be shy about negotiating to get what you want either. If you want a cash refund plus a great 1 bedroom villa at SSR then you probably will be in luck because that appears to be the default offer. If you would rather have a great deluxe room with a prime location then ask for BC/YC, CR, Poly or GF! Good luck and let us know what happens.

I definately DON'T want to be moved once I'm there. I want to know if I'm moving BEFORE I get there. I was wondering if anyone has been moved who's had ressies AFTER Sept 1...the supposed cut off date.

I'll be arriving at AKL in about 6 weeks. I'm also concerned...
I called CRO a few weeks back and asked about moving and the lady didn't know what I was talking about.
Actually, I'm hoping I get the call to move, because I'm having second thoughts about AKL.
My dream is for the POLY, but I'd be more than happy if we could get the WL (my favorite resort)
