AKL Concierge Studio or 2 BR Suite Standard

Tell me about concierge service please! In my ever changing plan for the best vacation I can plan for first timers I am pondering placing us in some concierge rooms or possibly 2 BR...

I'd love your experience for those of you who'd been through a similar situation.

4 adults (me, hubby, bro, sis in law), 3 kids (7-13 - brother's)... The thing with studios is that I can swing Savannah or concierge; one or two of the kids will sleep in the room with hubby and I. It's not a big deal really but we will be separated and who knows how close the rooms may be.

If I do a 2BR we are together but I need to do more research if I can pull off the points needed for Savannah or Concierge. Plus we get the kitchen... which is one of those will we or won't we really use it things... I know for certain though we will do laundry mid trip at some point but we can always do it at BLT after AKL.

The plan is for 3 nights at AKL...

So long story short -- 2 studios and knowing I can no problem afford the points for Savannah or Concierge (as long as there's availability) OR Stay together in a 2BR even though we may only be able to afford a Standard. There's always the nagging worry with the kids wanting Mom or Dad if not feeling well etc and the loss of a King Bed but does that outweigh the other cool stuff...

Maybe I am just hoping someone will tell me to just use more borrowed points and worry about 2010 vacation in 2010 LOL

What are the odds of getting two AKV concierge studios?

Regardless I would do the 2 bedroom. The extra space always wins out.

There are only five AKV Concierge studios - three savanna view and two pool views. In total there are only five two bedroom lockoffs in AKV Concierge. They can be reserved as a studio, one bedroom or two bedroom or any combination as long as they don't add up to more than five two bedroom lockoffs.

The other problem you would have would be the others not staying concierge (if you only got one studio on Concierge level) not having access to the concierge level. They would not be eligible to share the lounge with you.

Concierge is on the 6th floor. Other rooms at Jambo House are on the 5th floor.

I am actually waitlisted for AKV Conciere Studio and I called at exactly the 7 month mark. I think they are kind of hard to get!

They also are limited. They only exist in Jambo House and will be a lockoff - meaning a one bedroom connected to a studio. They sleep eight and only eight. They do not have the sleeper chair in the living room. They are about three feet shorter than the standard or savanna view.
