I need to know everything about the concierge level at AKL. What Savannah's does it overlook (all?) Do the rooms on the 6th floor overlook the savannah's? EVERYTHING...we have never stayed at AKL or concierge level at Disney for that matter. Any and all help would be appreciated. I am trying to figure out what to request in my ressie (Savannah, etc) and I want to make it as easy as possible with me. I will be traveling with 3 small children and a teenager

I haven't atayed there yet, but I'm going soon. Once you make your room reservation, make your reservation for the sunrise safari if you want to go on it. I'm on the waiting list for the Safari while I'm there. Start calling concierge AS SOON AS you make a room reservation, it can be hard to get a peson when you call instead of leaving a voicemail message.

The sixth floor rooms do not overlook the savannah. They are the only concierge smoking rooms. So if you want smoking and concierge, you will not have a savannah view.

Most of the concierge rooms seem to voerlook the Zebra Trail.

I would ask for a 5th floor room with a view of Arushka Rock.

Hi. You are going to LOVE AKL Concierge:D

I stayed on the 5th floor on the Arusha Savanna (the main one). The majority of concierge rooms are on the 5th floor.
Check out www.allears.net and look under accomodations and then AKL and then Concierge reviews for some great info.It is my understanding that the rooms on the 6th Floor are all pool view rooms. The Kilimanjaro Lounge is also on the 6th Floor. Our room was on Kudu Trail and it was somewhat of a hike to everything. If you want a savanna view then I would suggest requesting the following: (I'm also assuming they will be giving you a Bunk Bed Room b/c of the # in your party but go over that as well.)
#1 Request: Savanna view
- I believe they are all views of the Arusha Savanna but double check when you speak with one of the Itinerary planners
#2 Request: Zebra Trail
- This will put you one floor down but on the same side of the bldg. as the elevator which will take you up to the 6th floor (as well as down to the Lobby, restaurants, Pool, etc.)
I second the warning to make your Sunrise Safari request ASAP. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS! Call the phone # and you will get the message every time it seems. But they WILL call you back. Just keep the message short and sweet. Give the name the reservation is under, your phone number(s) and your dates of travel and ask them to call you back.
Also, when you have someone on the phone they will, or should, ask about any dining requests. Think about where you'd like to dine before this conversation and have specific restaurants, days and times if possible...they can work "Magic" in getting you what you want!
Good Luck!princess:

Found emailing the concierge reps very efficent. If a cc is already attached to your reservation then reserving the safari is painless. In most cases they reply within 4 hours if not sooner.

Thank you all so much for your input. I spoke to someone yesterday in concierge. They gave me their email address to send everything I wanted PS's for and anything else I might want to add to my ressie. I asked them to make some notes on my ressie via email in terms of location, etc. They emailed me back this morning and said everything was noted, they will make my PS ASAP and are sending me out my packet up info. They took my credit card number yesterday so they would have it on file in order to make the PS that require a deposit.

I did tell them we wanted to do the Sunrise Safari, so hopefully they will get that for us. I will contact them again the first week of April to make sure they are working on everything.

I have also found e-mail to be the best and most effcient way to correspond with the concierge (for our last trip, the YC concierge took 3 hours to respond to an e-mail, which I thought was great turnaround time, and apologized for taking so long).

Have them e-mail the itinerary of PS to you (not sure from the previous message if they were going to do this). Itinerary will list dates, times and places, which are great, and will also list confirm numbers for all PSs, which is important if there is ever an issue that needs to be addressed.
